I don't own Reign.

Mary knew. The moment that Catherine had handed her the empty sheet of paper she knew that she had to make a choice and she knew that it wasn't going to be the one that everyone expected. She raced to Bash's room. Catching him off guard she walked calmly towards him a sad smile on her face.

"Mary, we don't know that everything is fine. You and I we can still be together." Anguished Bash

"Your poor face. Bash, Catherine, she helped me figure out who the man I walk down to will be." Sighed Mary

"Mary…" Bash was heartbroken. While he knew that Mary loved him he was sure that Francis would always win.

"Catherine handed me this and I knew." Mary replied as she handed Bash the paper that Catherine had just presented to her.

"It's blank." Bash responded confused

"I know. Bash when I came here I was told it was because I was going to be marrying Francis that I was going to become Queen of France. When I first got here it wasn't Francis that caught my eye but I told myself that I had to love him. If I wanted to survive my future as his wife loving him was better that not. When Catherine handed me that blank piece of paper and told me to follow my heart, Francis wasn't even an option…." Mary was cut off as Bash cut across the room twirling her around kissing her while laughing.

"Is this true?" Asked Bash hope shinning in his eyes

"Yes. You, Bash are the one that I will wed this eve." Smiled Mary

"I will see you shortly my future wife." Smiled Bash as he walked Mary to her room

Mary smiled as she entered her room and she requested her ladies to help her get ready for a wedding that not even the King of France knew whom the groom was to be. The guests where lining up and the kitchens were preparing a feast in honor of the newlyweds as they went through the motions Mary heard her ladies gasp as they saw Bash at the end of the aisle.

Catherine looked devastated as she was here to watch her son's love marry another man knowing that it was her own doing. She stood next to Marie de Guise both with grim expressions this is not what they had planned all of those years ago. Mary smiled to herself as she took Bash's hand and the two knelt before the priest. After a short prayer Mary smiled at Bash as she followed his example and signed her name with flourish.

"My I pronounce before God and the French Court, that you are now husband and wife." Smiled the Priest

Happily Bash caught Mary's lips in a quick but meaningful kiss. The two walked back down the aisle and entered the reception hall. The reception was perfect other than the cold shoulder from her mother Mary was enjoying being a wife.

Neither were naïve enough to believe that this was end but at least they knew that they were together and hopefully that would be easy enough to overcome.

A/N I know that it is short but I just wanted a happy ending for Bash!
