Happy watched as spiderman fell from the top of the Ferris wheel and fell into the ground. Before Happy could say a word Tony Stark flew down beside him and looked at the wreckage.

"What on earth happened Happy?"

"I'm not sure sir."

"Forget it, I don't want to know. What I want to know is where this man got all the alien tech from." Stark asked the Vulture just before he got into the police van.

"I'll never tell." The door slammed.

"Come on." Tony said sarcastically to the police.

"We need to move him from the crime scene now." A policewoman said.

"You could've at least given me 2 minutes." Stark said but the van just drove off. "Can you believe that Happy?"

"No sir but,"

"And he's made a right mess of my plane."

"Sir, spiderman caught the vulture."
"That explains why my plane is in about 1,000 pieces. Where is that kid?"

"I saw him fall from the Ferris wheel. He was limp."

"Really?" Stark said becoming concerned. He got into his suit and took off towards the Ferris wheel scanning the area.

"Mr Parker has been identified." Friday said lighting up Peter's body in Tony Stark's vision. He dived to the kid.

"Kid you ok?" Tony asked bending down. There was no response. "Peter?" Tony turned him over. His mask was gone and his face was covered with cuts and fresh bruises. Fresh blood covered deep gashes down his left cheek and across his nose, as well as blood covering his right ear.

"Assess injuries." Tony instructed Friday.

"2 facial fractures, multiple broken ribs, severed spleen, left complete plural effusion, fractured right tibia and 3 gunshot wounds to his lower back. Minor crush injures also noted."
"Shit."
Tony muttered under his breath. "Call Bruce." He instructed Friday

"Hey kiddo." Tony said coming over to Peter as he woke up. Peter lent up and attempted to breathe, Tony came to his side. "Steady there kid, relax. You've hurt yourself badly."

"I can't." Peter whimpered lying back.

"I know, I know. You're body is doing enough." Tony is sitting on the edge of the bed as Peter struggles to breathe. "What happened Peter?" He asked in all seriousness. Peter looked at him before answering,

"I fought the vulture… and the plane."

"We all know about the plane kid. What did you do that has crushed half your ribcage?" Peter screwed his eyes up trying to remember.

"I… I was, crushed." He said at length.

"Crushed?" Tony asked, surprised.

"By about. 180kg of concrete."

"Right. And was this before or after the plane crash?"

"Erm. It was before. Yep, defiantly before."

"You should have told me Peter."

"I know Mr Stark, but there was no time. I needed to stop."

"The vulture, I know." Tony Stark paused. "Look. After the plane crashed I found you're bloodied body on the ground and: and I thought you were dead. If you get injured Pete, you tell me."

"I know. I'm sorry Mr Stark, I'm sorry."

"Yeah, you better be." Peter looks around at his surroundings.

"Am I in the Avengers?" He trails off.

"Yes, you're in the medical bay. You got badly beaten up and Bruce and I worked all night to put you back together."

"I never knew that you cared so much."

"Well I do, and I never want to see that much of your insides again, understand?"

"Yes Mr Stark."

"Ok, get some rest."

"Thank you Mr Stark." Peter lay back and fell asleep once more. Tony walked out of the room to Aunt May who was watching from the door.

"How is he?" She asked concerned.

"He's doing ok. He's having some trouble breathing, which is due to him being trapped under rubble after the incident. Which I didn't know about." There was a pause.

"How is he even in this mess? He left the school prom only to wind up by the docks next to a massive plane crash. What really happened Tony?" Tony took a while to reply, considering whether to tell May everything.

"I don't know how or why Peter ended up there." Tony lied. "But he's in the best hands, you don't need to worry." Aunt May wobbles and Tony steadies her. "Come on, I'll show you to a spare room, Pete will be perfectly safe. Bruce is going to stay up all night to monitor him." Aunt May let herself be lead away. They get to the room and May turns around.

"Thank you."

"It's the least that I can do."

"No I meant for saving Peter. He's just one of your interns, and I'm sure that you have a few and you're a busy man but Peter's all I have." Aunt May pauses. "I raised him and he's all that I have left." She cries and Tony brings her into his arms.

"Peter would say the same about you, you know. Whenever I take him away for a project all he can think about is you. He's holding on for you, and he needs you." Tony loosens his embrace on May. "Get some rest and look after yourself, because Peter will need you tomorrow ok? Peter will always need you." May nodded and closed the door without saying a word.
