(Setting - During a mission)
I grunted as I hit a burnt orange colored shingle roof with a bang! That hurt my right leg a bit. I could hear a strange sound coming from behind me. It sounded a bit gravelly, like whatever it was had been yelling for quite a while. After figuring out the sound was a man yelling, I turned around to see the familiar shape of a man named Levi Ackerman. Captain Levi Ackerman.
The compact but strong man was being strangled by the fleshy hand of a titan. Levi was yelling with everything he had in his body. He didn't want to die. I can't just stand here and do nothing! I thought. I used my 3-dimensional maneuver gear to make my way over to the titan trying to murder my captain. I first sliced its hand, then made my way up its arm, to the nape of its neck. My whole body filled with rage, I cried out as I was defeating the man-eating beast. I shouted at Levi to get away as fast as he possibly could.
(The mission is over)
I asked the medics (in which seemed to be troubled) where I could find my captain, so I could speak to him, and they gave me the direction I needed. I walked with a slight limp to the room Levi was being hospitalized in. Assuming he would not be able to stand up and answer the door, I cracked it open a few inches and muttered, "It's Eren, sir. May I come in?" The captain said in an exceptionally hoarse voice, "Yes, of course." So, I entered the room cautiously, not exactly knowing what to expect.
I walked in to see Levi slouching in a bed, bandages wrapped around many different parts of his body. He did not look well at all, to the point where one might say half-dead. After viewing the athletic-looking man for a few seconds, I slowly strode over to the side of the bed he was laying in. I stood closer to the upper half of his body, so that I could get a better view of his face, his troubled eyes. Those same blue-gray eyes that had witnessed tragedy, loss, terrifying experiences.
"Sir, are you alright?" I spoke after a while. Obviously he's not okay, Eren! What kind of question was that? I jeered to myself in my head. The man laying in the bed let out the slightest chuckle. "Yeah, perfectly fine." He smirked. I had never seen Levi smile or heard him chuckle before… this is strange behavior for him. "I hope you get better soon. There's no way I can fight without you, sir. After all you've done for me, I don't know what I'd do wi-" I was interrupted by the feeling of soft but strong hands on the sides of my face. The slim fingers on those hands ran through my hair, in the area above and a bit behind my ears.
I never would've expected the captain's lips to be so soft, so relaxing and warm. Even though the kiss lasted only a few seconds, I embraced every single part of it. Levi had applied the perfect amount of force to my own lips. Not too rough, but not too light. A light rose tint expanded across my nose and cheeks. I looked my captain in the eyes for a moment, after we had kissed, wondering if he knew what he just did.
"Lis...ten to me, Eren. You saved… my life. I could never th...ank you enough for that, seriously." Levi was struggling for breath, and could hardly speak. He had begun to sit up, but I made him lay back down. "No, no. Lay down, please. You don't need to speak, save your voice. I'm staying here with you until you get better, alright?" I insisted. So, I did. I stayed with him, clinging onto his hand. Every once in a while, I would lay my head on his chest to listen to his heartbeat. His breathing would begin to slow down, then slowly increase in speed while he was sleeping. I paid close attention to him, making sure he was alright.
I whispered to him loud enough for him to hear me, "I love you, captain. Please stay with me."
