Berserk fanfic, cause, why not
Takes place after the thing with Casca screaming, uses Knowledge from 358
A blood curdling scream of terror rang through the air in Elfheim. Guts recoiled upon seeing Casca react with such fear. He was paralyzed; it was like being trapped in a statue, as much as he willed himself to go forward he couldn't.
Casca saw the Eclipse, memories of that time and place, the hawks were dead, demons had attacked her… violated her. She remembered Griffith, the pain he put her through. She remembered her friends dying all around her, trying to protect her. She remembered Guts, fighting with everything he had, for their friends' sakes. She remembered him fighting, trying to save her, brutally cutting his own arm off to try and reach her, getting his eye gouged out, he tried to protect her. She remembered that he hurt her, while trying to protect her, she remembered him bleeding in that cursed armor. She saw the figure in front of her, and she knew… she was safe.
With the illusions over Casca could feel her breathing even out and took a good look at what Guts had become. She stood and walked over to him, she then croaked out "Guts… why?" Guts took a few seconds before asking in a trembling voice "Why what?" Casca then stared intently t him with tears in her eyes and asked "Why spill so much blood for me? Why hurt yourself so much for me?" Guts couldn't answer, instead he just stared silently before finally saying "To protect you, to get vengeance on that bastard Griffith." Casca then fell to her knees and said "I'm not worth this," while tears flowed freely down her cheeks. Gut was going to respond, when he heard it.
So vulnerable, so weak, so inconsequential. Now you must choose, between her and your vengeance, completely.
Casca then said "Please, can't we just stay? Guts, I don't want to fight anymore." Guts simply said to her "You won't have to fight anymore, I'm going to fight for you." Casca then said "NO! I want, no, I need you here with me." Guts turned and walked away.
While in they were in the main dining room of the elf palace it was dead silent, no one spoke. An elf guard suddenly came in and said "There is a child, he seems to be human, but there is, something about him." Guts didn't even bother waiting for anything else to be said before he stood and went out the door. While he was looking for the child he suddenly felt the beast's presence.
Unleash hell, kill them all, fight, that elf whore has been suppressing me, let me OUT!
Guts fell to his knees and felt the armor over taking him and wondered 'how, why, there's no conflict, nothing, so why here and now?' Schierke and Danan were the first to find guts. They then saw a small child walk up to Guts and put his hand on the chest plate of the berserker armor. As the two ran forward Guts threw his head back and let out a roar that reverberated around the forest. The child then grabbed on to Gut's cloak, apparently without Guts realizing, then Guts ran, faster than any human should be
able to. The others in Guts's travelling party came soon after and Farnese asked "Was that?" Schierke nodded.
