Author's note: So yeahhh I was perusing some Sanubis (is that what they're called?) fanfiction and got inspired to write this little drabble. I'm not all-knowing about the Kane Chronicles since I've only read the first one but even just from reading it I liked Sadie and Anubis as a couple :) I heard that they kissed in the most recent book so I guess this is kind of ignoring that. I imagined this happening when Sadie isn't a naive little twelve year old. Maybe fourteen or fifteen.
Warning: These two may just become my new obsession.

He kisses her.
The first thing that she notices is that his lips are freezing, but then again she doesn't really care because Anubis is kissing her and she thinks oh God, please don't let this be a dream.
Her senses go a little fuzzy, so she's only slightly aware of his cold fingers tangled in her hair and his hot breath splashing across her face when he breathes out with his nose. Her hands find his chest, and they grip the collar of his black leather jacket, pulling him closer to her because if this is going to be her first kiss she definitely wants to do it right. Her heart is jumping like crazy in her chest and she feels a little dizzy and... and he pulls away.
Once he's no longer dulling her senses, she shakes off her previous thoughts and feelings and meets his gaze with a hard look.
"You shouldn't have done that," she says, but her voice sounds a little breathy, so it doesn't contain the firmness that she wanted it to.
He smiles, but it has an undertone of sadness, and it makes her feel bad because she knows that she's the reason for it.
"I know," he says.
And then he's gone.
