001. Name
Red has always hated her name. Growing up, she despised whenever anyone called her "Red" or even "Little Red Riding Hood". Whenever anyone would call her by her name, she'd grumble about how it wasn't her fault that she wasn't allowed to go anywhere without her infamous cloak. She can't count how many times she wished that she had a pretty name like Belle, or Anastatica. Hell, she wished she had just known what her real name was- or if she even had one. Granny, along with everyone else, had called her Red for as long as she could remember.
After she discovered why she wore the cloak, she hated her name even more. She was called 'Red' because of her cloak, which was the only thing that kept her human. The only thing that kept her from losing control and giving into the wolf side of her, and attacking those who she loved. Every time she heard the name, it was like a slap in the face. She wasn't normal, she wasn't even human. She hated that people only knew her for that part of her.
For a while, Ruby hated her name. She was named after a fucking rock. It was a pretty rock, but a rock nonetheless. After a while of moping about it, she decided to take action. Red was the color of lust and passion, and since Ruby was a shade of red, why not live up to her namesake?
Her shorts got shorter and shorter, as her tops became more and more low cut. She painted on dark red lipstick and dark cat eyes to complete the look. Almost every male in Storybrooke couldn't keep their eyes off of her, and she loved every minute of it.
Once the curse was broken, and everyone's memories were restored, Ruby was embarrassed by her wardrobe, trading it in for a more subtle look. All around her, the citizens of Storybrooke took on their old names, returning to Rumplestiltskin, and Hansel and Gretel. She, however, kept the name Ruby. For once, she wasn't called Red, a direct reminder of the side that she was ashamed of, and for that, she was just a tiny bit glad for the curse.
