How life could be better Aang didn't know. The world was-mostly-at peace, the Fire Colonies were peacefully returning to the Earth Kingdom, the Southern Water Tribe was beginning to rejuvenate, some people had been showing an interest in becoming Air Acolytes, and Katarra was about to have his child. Then it hit him. He was going to be a father! Sokka and Toph watched in amusement as he flitted around the courtyard of his house on air balls and various gusts of wind. He was talking to himself so fast not even Momo could keep up, and so the lemur just titled his head to the side and twitched his tail in fascination. It Appa sitting on the 20 year old avatar to have him calm down. By then Katarra's labor was nearly over with, and a few minutes later a healer fetched him.
Aang was frantic and ran ahead. He reached Katarra right as one of the healer's yelled push, and a beautiful baby was there. Aang was so ecstatic he was almost escorted out by one of the many there. He finally calmed down and took his wife's—his wonderful, sweet, powerful, sweaty wife—hand and squeezed it. Another few minutes later he was handed a beautiful baby girl. She had blue eyes very similar to Katarra's. Aang's heart swelled with happiness and he stared at his wife who looked deep into his gray eyes.
The water bender seemed to find what she was looking for when she leaned forward and kissed him. Aang melted and would have kept kissing her had something not occurred to him. He pulled back gently, and cupped one of Katarra's cheeks. "Sweet, what is her name?" Katarra blinked, and looked the baby in her husband's arms. She thought for a moment, and her eyes widened as a name came to her. She mumbled it at first, and blushed before looking away. Aang leant closer and whispered in her ear.
"What was that?" Katarra jumped slightly when he put the baby in her arms, and supported them with his own. "I want her to be…Kya."
