Return of the Good Sense
"NO!"
As sudden as a lightning, the blade's green light rends the darkness of the room. The young Jedi rushes to the Sith Lord, brandishing his weapon. Drawing strength form his fury, he strikes the most violent blows he has ever delivered. Waving his lightsaber with increasing speed, he makes his enemy step back toward the bridge to the throne room. The Sith collapses. He is now barely able to block the blows. The Jedi does not stop his offensive yet; the blades still collide with more brutality.
At last, Luke Skywalker cuts off the armed hand of Darth Vader. His anger then fades, and he hears the Emperor's sniggering behind him.
SHEEV: Good! Your hate has made you powerful. Now, fulfill your destiny and take your father's place at my side.
Luke stares at his mechanical hand. Then, he sees that his father's right hand, which he has just cut off, was mechanical too. The Jedi realizes that he was about to become like Darth Vader. He switches his lightsaber off and turns to Emperor Sheev.
LUKE: Sheev, you really need to be subtler. (He throws his lightsaber away.) My goal is to bring my father back to the light, not to turn to the Dark Side. You've told me what I have to do to do what I don't want to do. What do you think I'll do, you moron?
Luke waits for Sheev's response for a few seconds of awkward silence.
SHEEV: Well, I should have foreseen that. (The scene cuts here to show Han Solo destroying the imperial bunker on Endor.) Since you refuse to cooperate, I'll do my villain stuff without you!
Sheev casts a Force lightning at Luke to hurt him very badly. Darth Vader takes advantage of Sheev's villain monologue to position himself behind him. The Emperor casts lightnings again.
LUKE: Daddy, please! AH!
Sheev increases the power of his lightning. He is so focused on his hatred toward Luke that he is oblivious to the conflict that intensifies in Vader. The latter remembers that his allegiance to Sheev is nonsense. So, he decides to save his son. With the Force and his remaining hand, Vader grabs Luke's lightsaber and impales Sheev from behind. It's easier than taking him up (especially with one hand) and throwing him into the Death Star's reactor.
DARTH: Son, are you alright?
LUKE: Yeah. You've made the good choice, dad, but it's a bit late. My friends will try to kill you for your crimes against humanity… and the other conscious species in the galaxy. You won't be invited to the party on Endor after the battle. I'll help you change your identity and hide somewhere.
DARTH: I think I have a better idea. I'll succeed Sheev and I'll use my new authority to restore the Republic and democracy.
