Raj (and his sister Priya) both studied at Cambridge University (my alma mater :-)). Here is a TBBT story set during Raj's student days at the world's greatest university. He has just returned to the student lodging he shares with his sister.

Hello Raj, welcome back, how was Physics?

Hello Priya, how was Law? Good to see a woman I can talk to, I have had a strange day.

Tell your sister all about it and I will make a cup of tea.

There was a big seminar today in the Cavendish Laboratory, there was a visiting scientist from America. He is only a couple of years older than me and already he has two PhDs. All the professors turned up, even Hawking, just to hear this American talk about string theory. He knew his stuff but a lot of what he talked about was way over my head. At the end he was very condescending and arrogant when people asked questions, the only question he properly answered came from Hawking. I thought that I was smart, but compared to this guy I felt as if I knew nothing. I hoped to have a talk with him after the lecture at tea time but he went off with Hawking and some other professors.

I think I saw a future Nobel prize winner today but I am not sure that I enjoyed it. He is a brilliant scientist but he had no people skills, I was glad he left so quickly. I really pity the poor people who have to work with him everyday.

What was his name?

Sheldon Cooper.
