Two were dead. One was gone, deep in Azkaban. He was alone, much like how he was before he met them.

"Yes, I knew him. Or I thought I did."

"Unless you thoughtI was the spy..."

"I never told them to stop it did I?"

There were a lot of things Remus regreted in his life.

But not once, not even after James and Lily lost their lives, did he regret knowing Sirius Black. In the twelve years that passed, he always made excuses as to why, *how* Sirius could have done that to his best friend.

The outbreak was what drove Remus to ask Albus to allow him to take up the DADA position, both due to his worry about Harry... and the hopes he could find Sirius and confront him about what happened twelve years prior.

The confrontation wasn't what he expected, and instead of making him more worried, part of him relaxed. Sirius was innocent. Peter... Peter wasn't as important to him as Sirius was, and although the betrayal still hurt a part of him, it outweighed nothing of the pain he carried before.

He kept Sirius close to him whenever he was in Grimmauld Place, reluctant to let the dark haired animagus out of his sight in the chance something would happened to him and he'd leave him like James did.

The Battle in the Ministry would forever stay in his mind. He may not have been in the same room as Bellatrix and Sirius had been in,

but he had felt Sirius's passing.

Weeks passed into months and Remus mourned. Not just the loss of his best friend, but his partner in crime, his only living companion...

He did anything to rid himself of that hurt.

And Nymphadora was only so willing.

He did love her, and he wanted nothing more than her safety.

But... She wasn't the same as Sirius.

Impregnating her took it's toll on him. He felt guilty for being happy, where the only person who could understand where he was coming from was having to deal with an upcoming full out war against the Dark Lord.

Said person was the only reason he went back to her, promising her he'd never leave like that again.

When Teddy was born, Remus was joyous. He let Harry become his godfather, and kept the darker thoughts to his heart.

'Harry, I don't want to live. At least with you, Ted can get the proper raising.'

At the time of his death, He stayed with Tonks, keeping to his promise of staying with her.

Death was welcomed- the last living Maruader was no more, and Remus wanted nothing more than to greet his old friends and continue on from the world of the dead.

I really only wrote this for a friend of mine, but I got a bit of good feedback about it, so c:

I understand that there's a bit of dramatizing and not a lot of more depth to this drabble, but I wrote this in ten minutes and I'm impressed with it.

My Vagueness with not saying Harry's name at first was just due to me really not wanting to mention anyone other than the first few names, so if anyone was confused about that, that's why.

Please review ;w; I want to know how I did with working on a third person POV and especially with Lupin.
