High in the skies above West-Side Island, Sonic the Hedgehog was flying his biplane, the 'Tornado', when something went wrong.. he looked to his right to see the wing engulfed in flames! He quickly crash landed onto the Emerald Hill coast, and decided to take a nap.

Meanwhile, a few miles east, a small fox was huddled in a ball, crying. This is Miles, and he has two tails. These tails are the reason he gets bullied on a daily basis, leading to his current situation. He had just had all of his money taken, and been beaten up. The poor fox is only 2 years old, and is soon to meet the 9 year old hedgehog. Eventually, he stands up and walks to the coastline, where he sees the beaten up plane. He knew what he had to do.

Two Hours have gone by, and Miles has finished. He has fixed up the plane, added modifications to make it stronger and faster, and painted it a lovely shade of blue, to match the Hedgehog sleeping under it.

"What on Mobius are you doing?" said a voice from behind the kit.

"Uhm, I was just.. fixing your biplane!" Miles started, "and I added cool modifications to make it go fast, and painted it blue!"

Sonic noticed the cuts and bruises that were all over the fox. "Are you okay?"

Miles hesitated, and then said "..No.. I get bullied.." His two tails showed out from behind him.

"You have 2 tails!?" the speedy hedgehog replied.

Miles hid behind them shyly, fearing that he was about to be beaten up.

"Aw come on man, I won't hurt you!"

All Miles could say is.. "What? You won't?"

"Nah of course not! Plus, these adjustments are cool! Hey, I could do with a mechanic.. and a friend.. wanna be my bro?" Sonic replied cheerfully.

Miles jumped at the opportunity. "Yes please, Mr.."

"Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. And you would be..?"

"Miles Prower.. but i don't like that name."

Sonic thought for a moment. "How about.. Tails?"

"That sounds great!"

Sonic smiled. "Excellent, let's get going then!"

Several years later. Sonic is 15, and Tails is 8.

"And that is how we became friends!" explained a happy hedgehog.

"Interesting.. next story, am i your friend or something more?" replied Amy.

A loud explosion can be heard from Angel Island. Sonic races over to see what the problem is.

"Mwhahah- Well, Sonic! I have the Phantom Ruby!" shouted the evil Dr Robotnik.

"Hey! Put that back in the ground!" Sonic shouted back.

The ruby started to shine, and suddenly ripped a massive portal into the air. It sucked Sonic and Robotnik in. They arrived in what seemed to be.. Green Hill? Sonic spotted a wooden airship above, and used his parkour skills to jump aboard.

Unfortunately, Robotnik had thought of this. He slammed down on a button, which opened a trapdoor under Sonic. Sonic was now falling to his death. He flailed his arms, to no avail. He closed his eyes and waited for the impact. It didn't come. He waited 5 more seconds. He still hadn't hit the ground. Had he blacked out, and now was dead? He opened his eyes, to see that he was ascending to heaven- he had died! Well, not really. He was in fact, being carried by Tails.

"Thanks Lil' bro!" Sonic said, relieved.

"That's okay, just be careful where you step in future." replied a worried fox.

"Gah! He didn't die!" Robotnik said, staring at a monitor. "I'll get you, Hedgehog!"
