Ken was sitting on the corner of a street when he saw a familiar face passed by him. Matt was walking down the street when he saw a troubled boy on the street.
"Ken what are you doing out so late on the streets?"
"I ran away from home again. Why do you care I was the Digimon Emperor. I almost killed you."
"People make mistakes you cant judge them on that."
"You're the holder of the crest of Friendship. I can tell by the way you look on things."
"Man they weren't kidding when they called you the kid genius."

" Right, I've always been this way and I bet you weren't this way all your life what happened to you to change you into a beast?"
"Do you really want to know?"
"Yes, but lets go over to my house were its warm and my dad's not home so you can just talk to me and no one else."

They headed over to Matt's apartment. When they got their Matt offered Ken some hot chocolate. Ken took it politely.
"So what happened to make you a run away kid and though you seem to have it all?"
"If you only knew. It all started out with my brother he was nice to me and all but he just seemed to ignore me and also my parents. After a while when I started too go to school my brother and I got a long great we were best pals but their was something in that bond that I just couldn't get out of my head. I was still jealousy of him getting all the attention from my parents. I lived like that for a while thinking that there would be hope I wouldn't be the runt of the family. I had no true friends not until I met with Wormon I played with him in the Digital World after school and homework. It was a little relief but it sometimes would just get worst at home. My parents why aren't you like your brother all the time. I had a big argument with my parents and brother that night and decided to run away to the digital world. I stayed there for year in real world time, which was the same as digital time. They were worried like heck I could tell cause when I came home my house seemed colder and darker and depressing. I yelled for my mom and dad. They ran like lightning to me and cried and hugged me like there would be no tomorrow. After that day everything seemed to be the same except my brother wouldn't let me out of his sight and was so kind to me and told me to never leave him again. I promised as long as he didn't leave me. We grew closer and closer and we were closer than you and T.K. and Kari and Tai combined."
"Really what happened after that?"
"Well my … my ..A car hit my brother when he crossed the street and I saw him fly through the air and land on the street with cuts and bruises and I couldn't do anything to save him. I was right there and I was helpless and I would never be the same." Ken was crying his eyes out and Matt offered a shoulder and knew why he had done all that it was under the eyes of depression and was horrible what he had been through.
"Matt thank you for letting me cry without shame. I always feel bad when people see me like this. You have made me feel better he started to cry some more after an hour of no stop crying he felt Ken's body go limp and knew he was a sleep and picked him up and put him down on the couch. Matt felt something weird when he was looking at Ken. He knew that it was love and compassion. Matt shook Ken enough to wake him.
"What Matt?"
"Ken I have something I wanted to tell you but I know you don't feel the same way so here it goes. Ken I love you."
Ken stood there in shock but knew what to say "I love you too, Matt" Ken was so tired and weak he fell asleep before he could say anymore or do anything more. Matt kissed Ken on the forehead and "I hoped I lighten your dark life today Ken." He went to asleep into a sweet dream state he hadn't had in a long time.
