The Riot of the Grateful
Most people know of the Tomb Kings and the armies they command, but the Liche Priests also raised Women and Children from the graves 's the story of the High Elf takeover of Numas….
Nina sighed. Her people had been enslaved. These elves called them selves good? Pathetic. An empty title, worthless of them who hold it. They took over our city. If only the Grand Army of Numas hadn't been defeated. Lagashizzar hadn't gone down without a fight, though. Everywhere you could see elves carrying their comrades' dead bodies out, as to not bring the plague of a god known as Nurgle. Ha. Such a dumb name.
But Lagashizzar was still dead, and nobody could stop that. Stone chunks from Numas's statues still litter the battlefield, among dead bodies of both elves and skeletons. Nina herself was a skeleton, but a more feminine skeleton. She was taking care of her brother, a half skeleton, half swarm hybrid. The undead man was yelling loudly as she cleaning the swarm with extract of Numas lily, which would cure infection. She quieted him down, before the street police could come and arrest her for disrupting the supposed peace.
There is no peace
Skeletons of former revolutionaries and gang members still haunted the alleyways, re-killing each other. It was unfortunate that Nina had to live here, but with a deformed brother, the high elves didn't want them any other place. Frickin' racists.
"Are you done?" a raspy, irritable voice said, snapping her out of here thoughts. Ramhotreph snapped her out of her thoughts. Her brother had actually joined the anarchist gang, and had been injured by the street police.
"Yes, but I need some more antiseptic, so I have to go to the market. I'll be back." Nina departed from the house. She left the alleyway as she walked to the marketplace in her side of the city. It seems as though the street police and the gangs had taken a break. She walked down the dirt road, noticing the bone dust everywhere. Most likely from beatings by the street police. The street was littered with piece of metal and wood. She noticed one piece, very smooth wood, about 7 feet long. She stared at it. It had the symbols of those who came before, the gods. As she picked it up she felt the power rush through her. She felt good about this.
