Disclaimer: I do NOT own Naruto...If I did he would not be such a weakling...YOU KNOW ITS TRUE!

Chapter 1 – His Konoha

Minato Namikaze, The Yellow Flash, The Yondaime, Arashi Kazama, Husband, and now Father. Too many names for one man to bear and yet he knew he would not have changed a single one especially the last two. Minato sat in an extremely uncomfortable hospital chair just outside of the room of one Kushina Uzumaki. She was his wife, his soul mate and the love of his life and he prayed with every fiber of his being that she would be alright. Sitting in the nauseatingly sterile hallway he could faintly hear her grunts of pain and labored breath as she fought to bring their first born son into the world. Although looking out of the window across from him, Minato could not help but wonder if it was all for naught. Their son, Naruto Namikaze, should not come into the world on a night such as this. It was a silent and still night, the type that lures you into a false sense of security right before the shit hits the fan...so to speak. On this chilly October night he knew that their son would do great things and change the course of the world around him. But looking out at his Konoha Minato knew he would rather his son never been born. Naruto, He would never be able to hold his son...he wouldn't be able to teach him how to throw a shuriken or use his first jutsu. Naruto would never hear his mother sing the native songs of her birth place or eat her famous pancakes.

Outside of that hospital room, sitting in that thrice damned chair in that despised hallway Minato swore that even in the belly of the Great Shinigami he would protect his son. He would make sure someone would be there for him, to comfort him when he scraped his knee, to hold him in the darkness of the night and to teach him how to throw a kunai. Tears raced down his chiseled face as he stared out of the window at his Konoha and hoped beyond all else that his people would accept him even though he knew the chances were slim at best. He just hoped that Kami-sama was listening to his prayers and protected his son from all of his and his wife's enemies.

Feeling the use of medical jutsu dissipating from the room behind him, Minato turned around to meet the face of his sensei's teammate Tsunade-hime. Slight wrinkles appearing due to stress and fatigue showed just how hard she had worked behind those white doors for the past 7 hours.

Closing the doors behind her Tsunade walked over to tell the Yondaime the news about his baby boy and his lovely wife. Knowing that he was growing anxious she began her report.

"Minato, I...Kushina brought a w-wonderful, healthy, baby boy into this world." Tears started to collect at the corners of her hazel eyes as she thought of what she had to say next. "B-but Kushina...she...she has l-lost s-so much.... b-blood.... and s-she...will n-not...m-make it..." Trying to compose her self as comfort the man who would soon loose his wife she gripped onto his white and red flamed coat to bury her face into his chest as he stood shocked and motionless from the news.

Raising her head from his broad chest as he gently wrapped his arms around her slender waist she said "I...I'm sorry, Minato."

That would not be the last time someone uttered those words.
