Ever since the Enchantress was defeated, you would think the Valley would be calm for a while.
Well, yes, it was, if you don't count the fact that way too many dimensions had come into contact with them.
Specter groaned and laid on the dead-red grass that covered the Lich Yard. Ever since his lost against Plague Knight and Shovel Knight, he had just stuck to his playable form due to he fact it felt more natural and how some dimension traveling creatures wondering how in the world he can change between being stuck to walking and being stuck to floating. Footsteps caught his attention and he looked at see where it was coming from. He sighed, somewhat annoyed and looking back.
"Ok, why are you here, Shield Knight?" Specter asked, barely glancing at Shield as she came up to him.
"I was wondering if you've seen Shovel Knight lately," Shield replied before quickly looking the way the phantom was before looking back.
"For the last time, the last time I've seen him was when that giant white wisp came here and asked him to be an assist something. Whatever it said," Specter hissed.
"First off, it was a giant floating white glove. Secondly, that tournament that the hand was planning to hold has already started and I have yet to hear any news from him about it," Shield snapped.
"Haha," Specter rolled. "Look, I'm not too sure if you can't tell already, but I don't care."
"How would you not care?!" Shield hissed. However, she muttered something under her breath and left.
Specter blinked before looking back up at the dull sky.
Suddenly, a streak of light.
He shot up, Shield quickly looking back at the phantom.
"Are you...?" Shield started to ask, but didn't finish. She looked up at what Specter was looking at, seeing the streak of light. It seemed to do an odd dance in the sky before diving down towards Pridemoor Keep. "What in Fate's name is that?!"
"That... I don't know," Specter breathed, confused himself.
Suddenly, another streak of light, doing a similar dance before diving on the Explodatorium.
"Something tells me that the light is not a good thing," Specter shook before looking upwards. Shield did the same.
The beam of light dived down, Specter barely able to teleport away to hide.
Breathing harshly, he looked at where he was before the light back down. Shield was gone.
The light ambushed him, painless but oh so bright.
He landed in midair, startled. Specter blinked before looking around. He appeared to be at some sort of broken castle, his natural body gone. Specter clicked before looking around.
A stone body laid in the center of a carpet, sitting there. He went up to it and entered the body.
Maybe I'll get used to this, Specter thought, moving the hand of his new puppet body to look at a pure metal scythe with a dark aura.
