Ch. 1:

"I can't leave him. I just can't…"

"Gaara…Please stop being so cold towards me. I don't deserve this." Hinata pled, tears streaming down her cheeks and staining her favorite purple shirt.

Though he never helped her up from her fall, she was determined to hold tight of his hand, holding tight of whatever hope she had left in him.

He knew she had been through a lot of pain already and that was enough to penetrated his cold heart.

He turned around, eyes becoming warm and caring, as he crouches down to her level, and wipes away her tears.

"Can you not see…the road we walk on is impossible. If either the Suna or Konoha citizens find out about us, they will imprison us or even worst, burn us to death for betrayal. You should know well enough of the consequences. It's either we pretend to be enemies or we'll be killed off. Be strong." he pulled her head closer to his, but inside he wished he could do more than just that.

"If we don't find out a solution to this, then you have to pretend we are strangers, enemies,…" he pulled her close to his chest, wanting to hug her as long as she wanted.

"Lovers…Can't we run away together?" she asks, leaping up, laying her head on his shoulder and hugging him so tightly.

His eyes closed, satisfied and fallen asleep to her heartbeat lullaby.

"Be strong…Hinata." he spoke softly into her ears as he slowly disappeared.

"Gaara…" she cried seeing the sand flying away from her grip in a river like motion.

"Hinata! Are you okay!" Naruto busted the door open seeing Hinata on her bed.

"Naruto! What's going on?" she softly said hugging the blanket closer to her.

"Oops. Sorry. I thought I saw someone sneaking around your cabin. I thought he might have come in here. Hehehe" he ruffled his yellow hair with a chuckle.

"Oh. It's just me here. No one strange here or else I would have used my byakugan. I'm fine Naruto." she smiles to ease his worries as he steps outside and closes the door.

She heard Sakura's annoyed voice behind her cabin door loudly asking, "Naruto! What are you doing here in the girl's side of the camp!"

More footsteps could be heard from outside her window. She looks outside to see Naruto being chased by Sakura and other female students.

The night became quiet again and everything seems to have gone back to the silent starry night.

"They're finally gone. And so was that dream." she looked out the window as she saw some sand dust on the ledge.

"He was here." she saw a pile of sand on the left side of her bed.

"Gaara…" she spoke opening her palm and letting the golden silky sand fly away to the direction where Gaara once was.
