The wind ruffles my fur,
I stand my ground.
My enemy stands before me,
Yet I feel no fear.
I narrow my eyes,
You narrow yours.
I am oblivious to all else.
All I am focusing on is this battle,
And for what reason I must win.
Win for freedom,
Win for peace.
Win for what is right.
I know as you stare at me,
My Warrior's Spirit will pull me through.
We leap at each other,
At the same time,
We seem to hang in the air.
My paws outstretched,
Eyes glittering with Spirit.
I knock you out of your concentration,
With a swift blow,
My moves are not thought about,
They simply just are.
I pin you down,
Hold you firm,
Snarl in your face.
"Don't ever come near my territory again,
You insolent excuse for a cat!"
I watch you run,
Tail between your legs,
I restrain myself from giving chase.
It is not a Warrior's Way to kill...unless necessary.
It is not a Warrior's Way to torture their enemies...and captives.
It is not a Warrior's Way...to seek for power above all else.
I turn away from the fleeing cat,
I close my eyes.
I sense.
I leap into the air,
As my enemy flies under me.
I come down and give the cat a mighty blow,
Hissing warnings into his shocked face.
"I am a Warrior, right and true,
I do not kill my foes.
However, I send them packing,
The way they came from and beyond!
"I have never lost a battle!
I have always won, through and through!
You doubt my strength and wit in battle?"
I lean down and growl in his face,
"Then you're a fool!"
My claws strike forward,
They hit their mark,
My captive screeches in pain.
Half of his right ear is torn off,
And I release him.
This time I chase him off my land,
Eyes glittering,
Tail twitching,
Features bearing the mark.
The mark, that is,
Of a warrior,
Battling to win his own way.
Win for freedom,
Win for peace.
Win for what is right.
I am a Warrior.
