Today is the anniversary of Izayoi's death so Inuyasha went to her grave and saw it dug up. He then went to the village were he was born and asked what happened to his mothers grave, but no one answered. Naraku appeared and said he had reborn the demon Urusui.
"Give me the jewel shard you posses"
"No"
"You'll be able to see your long lost mother"
Inuyasha's mother appeared and Inuyasha gave Naraku his jewel shard. Inuyasha ran to his mother.
"What's the matter?"
Inuyasha's mother was made of soil and bones just like Kikyo. Then Urusui appeared and told Inuyasha how Naraku told her to find Izayoi's remains reanimate them and find her soul to put in the clay body. Naraku appeared and pierced through Inuyasha's lungs. Inuyasha lay on the ground coughing up blood.
"That shard was a fake give me a real shard of the jewel"
Inuyasha got a jewel shard from his kimono and gave it to Naraku. Naraku left and Izayoi aided t inuyasha's wounds inuyasha's friends caught up and kirara took Inuyasha to the village. Kagome shook Inuyasha to wake him up.
"Were's the jewel shard"
"I gave it to Naraku"
"Why"
"Because I had to protect mother"
"SIT"
Inuyasha was in more pain and everyone complained to kagome. She patched up his wound and went to look for Naraku, but Inuyasha stayed with his mother. Inuyasha and Izayoi talked Inuyasha told her of his adventures from the day she died till now. Inuyasha said sorry.
"Inuyasha don't blame your self"
"But you protected me"
"That was my choice"
"If you didn't protect me then you would still be alive"
Inuyasha fell asleep from crying. The gang returned and saw Inuyasha fast asleep on his mothers lap.
"Inuyasha still blames himself"
"Why," asked Miroku
"Inuyasha protected me from a demon then I protected him and I died"
they all talked for hours and fell asleep. Inuyasha woke up seeing a sad expression on her face. Inuyasha walked away with a sad expression. He spent the rest of the day with his mother. Inuyasha tried to protect Izayoi when Naraku appeared he reopened Inuyasha's wound then his mother protected him and died. Inuyasha grabbed the remains and reburied them in her grave. Inuyasha put her kimono on the tombstone and left the village.
