Summary: Nakago's thoughts on his new incarnation. (Ideas of reincarnation taken from Buddhist belief.)

They say that memories of a past life linger for a few moments after reincarnation and that deeds of a past life dictate the form one takes after they die. If a past life is filled with good deeds, then the next life will be better than the last. If a past life is filled with dark deeds, though, the next will be of a lower form of life than the previous one.

It was due to this law of reincarnation that Nakago found himself in a rather bad situation; how does one rule the world and take revenge on their enemies when reincarnated as the thing he was?

Nakago opened soft blue eyes, his world a little scrambled. Wasn't he just standing in another world with Tamahome's arm through his chest? What were those sounds... and that raspy thing moving over his body, what was that?

Everything was very bright, as though he'd just spent a long time in the dark and his confusion turned to horror as he glanced down and found a fantastically huge rabbit licking him. Only... it wasn't really him, was it?

His limbs didn't work properly, but he managed to roll away from the monstrous rabbit and got to his... paws? Horror became shock and disgust as he stared unblinkingly at the pair of fuzzy white paws that held him up. Was this some kind of joke? Nakago scrambled towards the sound of water, determinedly keeping his eyes away from his feet, but once he reached the water's edge, he slowed and crept over to the water, fully expecting and dreading the image that peered up at him.

"I'm a bunny. Sweet Seiryuu... I think the gods are laughing at me." He muttered but his mind was starting to fuzz around the edges. Why was it bad that he was a bunny? What was a Seiryuu? "Momma! Momma! I found water! Aren't you proud of me?"

'Crap.' was the last coherent thought Nakago had before his memories as a seishi faded like a morning mist. He smiled, bounced over to his mother, and forgot about his troubling former life.
