Being a hero comes at a cost. The Chosen one knew there'd be danger during his journey to become number one. Now here he was, battered and broken. With a group of people around him. Each one with a face of sadness, regret, or few with a smile in an attempt to raise his spirits.

He knew his time had come. There was no second chance at living at this point. Arceus herself said so, yet his friends and mother did everything they could to try and help him as did the doctors and nurses who have been caring for him. There attempts did not swindle his time if death. It seemed as they had found a miracle as his body returned to normal. But he knew otherwise. His body may be healed but his soul could not. The people in the room had tears of joy and hugs went around.

He spoke up,"I'm not going to pull through."

This caused everyone to stop and his mother to grab his hand,"Ash dear you'll be okay."

Ash smiled,"No mom I'm not."

She had tears starting to form from the corners of her eyes. A yellow rodent starred to nuzzle under his hand,"Pika Pi..."

Gary Oak spoke from the group,"Ash you gotta live. There are things you still have to do!"

Everyone agreed with them. Ash looked around the room at everyone. They each stood here to help and comfort him even though that was impossible. Nothing they could do would help. His fate was sealed. He was not getting an escape out of this.

When a Pokemon poacher stole a cocoon containing the pokemon Yveltal. Ash, Serena, Clemont, and a young girl named Bonnie attempted to stop him. During their battle near Geosenge Town. Yveltal rose from his cocoon and destroyed most of the town and its residents. The battle then focused on Yveltal and with the help of Xernius they stopped him. But before being defeated Yveltal fired a weaker version of it's oblivion wing at Ash. His body shattered and his soul was poisoned.

Ash was now rest alone in the room. Everyone left after two hours to let him get some rest. He sighed in content as he closed his eyes and reflected on the life he lived. From the beginning to now. From first obtaining Pikachu. To the orange islands where he learned he was the chosen one. The many people and pokemon he met. The villains he faced. The Legendarys he helped save. Every memory floated back into him as he once again sighed.

"Lam-lampet." A voice about him said as it floated around him.

"Noir-Dusknoir." Another voice spoke.

The two voices spoke as Ash opened his eyes,"Is my time up now." The two ghost type pokemon backed up surprised from his comment. One was a black lamp-like pokemon with a blue fire inside it and the other was a humanoid figure with two large arms and hands and a lower body that ended in a whisp.

Ash asked the question again this time getting a nod from the two ghosts. The lampet hovered around him as the Dusknoir chanted in a monotone voice. Ash felt his eyelids grow heavy as the world went dark. The darkness ash was seeing made it impossible to rationalize what was around him. Soon a bright flash of white enveloped him.

Ash opened his eyes to see he was in a beautiful valley with a beautiful blue sky overhead and lush green forests and fields. The light if the sun wasn't causing him to squint his eyes and every breath felt like new life breathed into him. His body felt powerful and his mind was clear.

"Hello Ash." A voice said from behind him. Ash turned around and saw a Lucario standing next to a man in a blue outfit. The two had smiles on their faces as Ash smiled to them. Ash walked to them and laughed happily as they did too. He didn't care he was dead. He knew nothing can ever ruin his life. Not even death.
