It was late when Piper walked into the deck of the Argo II and saw two figures holding each other. She watched as Percy wiped away Annabeth's tears and whispered something that made her laugh. Piper felt a ranging of emotions as she witnessed their exchange.
Piper was jealous, she figured.
She knew it was the only explanation to the way she was feeling, She looked at the way Percy looked at Annabeth; with that look of adoration on his face, it would take a fool not to notice he was completely in love with her. As much as it hurt her to admit it, Jason... he didn't look at her like that. So yeah, she was jealous of Percy and Annabeth's relationship.
She wished Jason comforted her that way. Unlike Percy, Jason usually had no idea what to do when she started crying after a nightmare or when the pressure of the quest became too much. Some could say it was because Percy is older so he knows what to do or because he and Annabeth have been dating longer, but she knew better. She tried not to recent her mom for not giving her the perfect relationship but it was hard not to. She was her mom and never less the goddess of love, so why didn't she do something. One day after having a fight with Jason, she finally snapped and asked her mom why she didn't help her with her relationship when she was always doing that for Percy and Annabeth. Aphrodite looked at her and smiled knowingly and said that she had never interfered between Percy and Annabeth and that their relationship was the way it was because of the strong love the two feel towards each other.
Now that she thought about it, the two of them would die for each other. Percy fell into Tartarus for Annabeth and she remembers the Aphrodite cabin telling her about how Annabeth threw herself in front of a knife to save him. She would do that for Jason without giving it a second though but would he do the same thing for her? Their relationship wasn't even real at first and she still constantly worries about Jason having feelings for Reyna even though he denies it every time.
She watched as Annabeth kisses Percy then hugs him tightly and nuzzles her face in the space between his shoulder and neck. It was weird watching Annabeth act like a girl in love and not the composed way she usually did. Piper never thought of Annabeth as the rule breaker but she does break the rules.
It was no secret to the rest of the crew that Annabeth and Percy slept together in the same cabin. Everyone except coach Hedge knows that Annabeth sneaks into Percy's room after the lights have gone out. She has thought about telling Jason to do that but she can't think about sleeping on the same bed as Jason without blushing and Jason would never agree to break the rules.
As much as Piper is jealous of Percy and Annabeth's relationship, she's happy that they're happy. They both deserve it. Being away from each other affected them both and now that they are together, they can finally have a little peace before they quest ends. She hopes that one day, she can have with Jason the kind of relationship where both people are completely in sync and know each other like the palm of their hand.
