The Yes Game

"I'm bored Carter. Let's play a game."

"What kind of game, Sir?"

"I don't know. You pick one?"

"How about the yes game?"

"What's that?"

"I ask you a series of questions and all you can say is yes."

"What if I say something else?"

"I get your money."

"So it's a money game?"

"Yep. See you put some money down on the table and every time I ask you a new question you put more money on the table."

"What if I continue to say yes for hours?"

"Well if I get board and can't take it any long I'll call it off but if that happens I'll have to give you the exact amount of money you put down on the table. So no matter what happens someone wins and gets money."

"Sounds like it could be fun, let's play."

"Alright."

The yes game sounded easy enough to Jack. He figured he could say yes to anything and he figured his willpower could last longer than Sam's. He decided to put down a 5 every time Sam asked a question because no matter what she asked he was going to say yes. Plus if he put down a 5 every time she would have to pay out more to him in the end. Jack put down a 5 on the table.

"Ok. I'm ready."

"Do you like your job?"

"Yes"

"Do you like eating turtle soup?"

"Yes."

"Are you afraid of kittens?"

"Yes."

"Would you eat a rat?"

"Yes."

"Do you jump rope in a dress?"

"Yes."

"Do you wear a cape while you are sleeping?"

"Yes."

"Do you want to have sex?"

"YES."

"Do you want me to take the money?"

"Yes."

Sam reached over and grabbed the money off of the table. Jack looked at her surprised.

"Hey."

"You said you wanted me to take it."

"Yeah but that was part of the game. Wait. That was the whole point of the game wasn't it? You distract me with a question about sex and then you ask for my money and I'm too surprised by the sex question that I say yes without thinking."

"Yep."

"You scammed me."

"You said you wanted to play a game."

"Not that kind of game."

"How about I take you out to dinner to make it up to you."

"Alright but I get to order whatever I want."

"That ok with me. You know we could play more games while eating."

"I don't think so."
