~Chapter One~
Howl gets a 'death glare' from Sophie
Howl woke up and ruffled his raven black hair, letting a sigh escape this lips. He turned and looked at his sleeping wife, his little mouse, Sophie. She opened her now greeny-blue eyes (A boy from the village had accidentally threw a potion at her face, staining her eyes, leaving his darling blind for around three days)She looked so sweet, like a baby deer, with her long aurburn hair. "...h-howl?" she mumbled, making him smile. He leaned over and pulled his mouse over closer to him, where she relaxed against his bare chest, smiling to herself. He kissed her bedhead, and began playing with the tufts of her hair. "Morning, soph." he said softly, and she turned around and looked with her glassy greeny-blue eyes directly at him. "Tell you what," he said, looking with disgust at her eyes, "I'm performing the spell now. I miss those chocolate eyes."
Howl got out of bed and began to ruffle things on his desk, and Sophie grabbed him and pulled back into the bed. Howl lost his balance and toppled back onto the bed, squashing the unsuspecting Sophie."a "Arghhhh!" squealed Sophie, and Howl turned and lay on top of her, catching his breath. "I love you, Sophie Pendragon,"
"I love you too, Howl Pendragon."
Howl wrapped his huge quilt around Sophie, swung her over his shoulder, and her pounding his back and laughing, they stumbled downstairs.
As soon as he saw the woman sitting at the table, he nearly dropped Sophie. He softly put Sophie down , and grimaced at the woman at the table.
"Mira."
"Howl!" Mira exclaimed, running over to Howl and slinking her arms around his neck, kissing both his cheeks. Howl pushed her away, and next to him, Sophie balled her fists.
Howl didn't see this, and turned to Calcifer.
"Why did you let her in?"
"Howl, she's your ex girlfriend. And a necromancer!" Calcifer protested.
Sophie then flew up the stairs, livid.
Howl whipped around and grabbed her, and pulled her to his chest, kicking and yelling. He enclosed her in a bear hug and rocking her until she calmed down, but still giving him every death glare she could manage.
