Disclaimers: No, I haven't come into lots of money since I write my last story, so I couldn't buy the FF characters, therefore I must write the disclaimer. I only own Maria… and Jack, rather I own all the characters that aren't the Fantastic Four basically.

This is a sequel to 'Fantastic Five,' there's a little more violence in this one, well not exactly violence, but certain characters will find themselves in life threatening situations. I also haven't made up my mind on whether or not I'm going to kill off a character, but I might as the story goes on.

Maria stared at Jack with disbelief; "You're breaking up with me?"

Jack remained silent for a while, "I know, my timing is pretty crappy…"

She didn't let him continue, "A little crappy? You decide to break up with me on our six months anniversary! You could have done it yesterday, or last week! You could have picked any day but today!" She dared not let the tears that had welled in her eyes fall, she didn't want her face to burn, or ruin her new clothes. Reservations had been made in the best restaurant in the city, she'd gone out shopping with Sue and bought a new outfit especially for tonight. A light pink wrap top with matching skirt sprinkled with flowers. Sue had even done her hair especially for the occasion.

Jack looked meekly, "I'm sorry…"

"DON'T TELL ME YOU'RE SORRY!" Maria yelled, drawing a little attention to their table, not that people weren't looking anyway, a member of the Fantastic Five didn't often go out in public without drawing attention.

Jack looked around nervously, "It's not you, it's me," he tried to explain.

Maria looked away for a moment, then back at him. "Don't give me the 'it's not you, it's me' speech, we both know it's me," she said slightly, her voice cracking slightly.

Looking at his tie, Jack said softly, "It really is me, I can't handle you being able to save people. I can't stand by watching you risk your life day in day out to save other people not knowing if you're going to be ok." He paused looking at her, "I can't handle not being the strong one win the relationship," he confessed.

Maria just stared blankly at him, wandering if she'd heard him correctly. She wasn't needy enough for him? She wasn't 'damsel in distress' enough? She couldn't believe he'd just said that. "I don't get it," she muttered, "You can't stand the fact that I wear the trousers in this relationship?" With that, she got up and threw her food over him; after all she couldn't throw her drink over him, as she didn't have one.

Jack stood up, "Maria, wait!" he called after her as she ran though the restaurant towards the exit. She couldn't stand the eyes that bore into her from all directions, she had to get back the Baxter building and hide under her quilt. She had to get home…

a/n That was the first chapter, I hope you guys like it. I guess this was more like a prologue. I'll try to update post the next chapter before the weekend is out, so you'll sort of get more information. I think my author notes are getting longer than my chapters, so I'm going to stop here…
