He's coming.
He's coming and you are hidden like a coward, because you've watched your friends fall one by one.
You might be the only one left alive.
Eridan killed Feferi and Kanaya, and Tavros is dead too.
But now Eridan's gone, cut down screaming, and you have never been so scared.
You watched Sollux die in front of you. Then you ran.
honk.
You can hear him now, half insane and even more broken. You're a shitty leader, and an even worse friend.
You sent Equius after him, but you found his body in your attempt to escape.
Nepeta was there too.
Aradia exploded earlier, so she is gone gone gone, and you're counting off your friends on your hand, trying to remember who's left.
HONK.
You remember Vriska.
He destroyed her, and when you stumbled upon her body, it didn't resemble a troll anymore.
You try not to look at it as you look for a way out.
But there's nowhere left to run.
honk.
You wonder briefly about Terezi, but you don't want to think about her.
He's got her glasses.
The meaning behind that is all too clear.
Somebody bursts into your hiding spot, and you tense, fear all-consuming.
But it's not him, and when you see the face near yours, for a moment the situation isn't quite so grim anymore.
HONK.
"K4rkl3s?" she whispers, her voice full of disbelief. You gesture for her to be quiet, and she slides down next to you.
You can hear his footsteps, and you try not to tremble.
Something touches your hand, and you glance down before holding onto her like she's your lifeline.
She pulls you up to a standing position, and her cane is out. She's not going down without a fight, and you'll be damned if you don't help her.
You pull out your sickle, and glance at her again, trying to remember every last detail before the end.
You don't think you've ever seen Terezi Pyrope scared before.
honk.
He enters the room, and you see he's got Terezi's glasses.
He's also stained with a rainbow, and your hand shakes as it tightens around your weapon.
Terezi's still got your hand, and she pulls you forward into battle.
HONK.
Later, when the two of you are bleeding out on the floor, and he's talking to himself, she still hasn't let go of your hand.
"4ll I sm3ll 1s r3d," she whispers to you miserably. "Br1ght, c4ndy r3d."
You don't reply. You don't think you could if you tried.
He looks up towards the two of you again and grins, walking forward until he stands over you.
"Welcome to the dark carnival motherfuckers."
