Chapter 1: Excitement for a certain matter
Date-December 24, 2010
Location- Britannian Royal Palace
Time- 11:15 pm
"You are going to wear a hole in the carpet if you keep pacing little brother."
Lelouch vi Britannia, Eleventh Prince of the Britannian Imperial Family, looked into his older brother's blue eyes and sighed. He walked over and sat next to him.
Clovis placed a hand on his shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze.
"What's the matter Lelouch? Why is my dear little brother so saddened on what should be a joyous day for you and our family?"
"Truthfully… I am nervous Clovis." He answered without hesitation.
A look of surprise appeared on the elder Prince's face, but quickly passed. He had expected this as had Lelouch's other siblings, after all they were going to have a new addition to the family after today. Lelouch had every right to be nervous, he was the one getting married.
"Tell me Lelouch, do you love him?"
Lelouch blinked at the question.
"Yes, with all my heart."
"Does he love you?"
Lelouch answered without hesitation, "yes."
Clovis smiled.
"Then you have nothing to be nervous about. The two of you are going to be together forever."
There was a knock at the door.
"Come in!" Clovis yelled.
The door opened to reveal Cornelia and Euphemia in their bridesmaids dresses. Cornelia wore a royal purple dress that flowed down to her ankles leaving only the tips of her white boots exposed. Her purple hair had been carefully piled atop her head and a few loose strands hung delicately on either side of her face.
Euphemia was dressed in a similar fashion to her sister. Her pink dress stopped just below her ankles and her pink shoes were the perfect accompaniment to complete the outfit. Her pink hair was in the same style as her sister's, but unlike Cornelia's, was accented with numerous jewels that formed the royal seal with a large, black jewel as its base.
"Everyone is anxious Lelouch." Cornelia said in a commanding voice. "Mother and father were about to send a search party for you."
Lelouch took a deep breath.
"I know Cornelia. I just needed a moment to myself. I am ready now."
Both sisters smiled at their youngest sibling. They were glad he had finally found someone he could spend the rest of his life with.
Lelouch smiled in return, all fear and nervousness completely vanished from his person. He straightened his tie and headed to the chapel with purpose- and a spring in his step that didn't go unnoticed by his older siblings.
Britannian Royal Chapel
Time- 11:55 pm (5 minutes until the wedding)
The chapel was beautifully decorated for the occasion. Roses covered every available surface and candles offered soft lighting and ambiance.
Lelouch was standing next to his father, Charles zi Britannia, who would be officiating the wedding. Charles wore a rich purple robe with a gold shirt underneath and matching pants. His robe sat on a chair, because today he was simply Charles zi Britannia a father, not an emperor. He offered his son a smile.
"Relax my son, all will be well."
"I know father. I am just a bit-"
"Anxious?" Charles guessed.
The young prince nodded and tugged at his collar. His father placed a hand on his shoulder and Lelouch flinched slightly under his strength.
"You have nothing to fear my son. The one you are about to marry… if you did not feel something, if your mother, siblings, or even myself disapproved of him-," he paused to look his son in the eye, "you would not be getting married this day."
Lelouch blinked at this fact. He knew this was true because when he had introduced his fiancé to his family, they had interrogated him for twelve hours straight. Demanded to know if he would protect and love Lelouch for all eternity, then threatened him with death if he ever broke their little brother's heart. Charles and Marianne had a discussion of their own with the boy, albeit in a less-threatening manner. They had inquired about his intentions toward Lelouch, to which the boy's answer was brief, 'I wish to be with Lelouch for an eternity. I will love and respect him. I will never betray him or his heart.'
The words, spoken with such conviction, had convinced them of his pure intentions toward their son. They granted him their blessing.
Lelouch smiled as he remembered that day and how they had all rejoiced. Wedding planning had begun shortly after which found them all at this point several months later.
Charles clapped his son on the back. "Look alive son, it's time."
Lelouch checked his watch.
It was midnight.
It was Christmas.
