I am late with this drabble from last week because my mind just couldn't wrap around it, but I going to give it a shot now.
Drabble – Seven Deadly Sins – 300 Words
Hephaestion watched from a distance as Bagoos danced for his King. A whole array of emotions pressed into him from all sides, anger being the foremost.
How could he stand here and act like he was fine when all he wanted to do it scream out in rage. Outwardly he looked calm but inside he was churning. Oh how he envied the looks Alexander, his Alexander, was giving the young dancer, lustful looks meant for him and him alone. Alexander was his and he was tired of having to share him with the entire world. The world didn't love him as much as Hephaestion did and would until his dying breath and then beyond.
And so he stood quietly watching the agonizing dance continue, greedily hoping Bagoos would fall or trip, anything to take that look off of Alexander's face. But pride was the one thing he had left and he would not let the rest of the world see through the walls he had built up.
The song mercifully ended and Alexander rose to thank his young lover. Hephaestion turned to look anywhere but the scene in the center of the room. He spotted a tray full of sweet morsels and took it gently from the servant on his way out the door to his rooms.
Let them have their show he decided, to Hades with all of them, including Alexander. For now he was just going to get lost in the sweet treats in front of him and with any luck, he would die tonight a very happy abandoned lover.
Alexander found Hephaestion sprawled on his bed with the empty tray. He gently kissed the sweet honey from his mouth, tucking in beside him.
By the gods he loved this man, how would he ever survive without him.
