Alli and I were still in fits of laughter as we walked. We continued to retell the whole Jenna/plastic surgery incident even thought we were both there. Every time I pictured Jenna's dumbstruck face in my head, a new wave of giggles seized my body.
"I give you a 9 for making Jenna squirm and a 9.9 for wiping that grin of her face." Alli said in a disgusted, but satisfied voice.
"It was pretty satisfying." I said confidently.
"I hardly recognize you anymore." Alli said happily.
"Yet so few people have noticed how I've really changed. Maybe I should just, I don't know, go back to the old me." I took my glasses out of my bag and began to put them on.
Alli went to snatch them and before I knew it we were in a deathmatch for my glasses.
"Ah ha, no way." Alli fought.
"Alli, let go. Give them back." She was stronger than she looked.
We were still struggling and then in an instant, the glasses flew out of our hands and onto the street. To my non-existant luck, a black hearse drove over them, shattering them to pieces.
"My glasses!" I yelled in a panicked voice.
Alli crosses her arms and a smug smile formed on her face.
The owner of the black hearse got out and picked up the non-repairable glasses.
"I think they're dead." He looked down at them before handing them to me.
My hand reached out and took the glasses, while I continued to stare at the boy.
He had beautiful emerald, green eyes. His black hair shone in the light making his pale face and pink lips pop out. He wore all black and various rings on his fingers.
"It's ok. I- I don't need them anymore, I- I got laser surgery." I managed to stutter out.
"You have pretty eyes." He responded cooly. He kept staring at my blue eyes deeply.
"Thanks. I'll, uh, see you around?" I tried to match his cool voice but failed.
"Guess you will." The boy got back into his car and drove away as I bit my lip and continued to stare.
"I've seen that face before." Alli said smugly.
"I have no idea what you're talking about." I tried to sound non-chalant about it.
We passed a garbage can and discretely tossed the 'dead' glasses in it. Along with the old glasses being gone, so was the old me. This year I would I prove what the new Clare had to offer.
