It is the summer of 1884, and Princess Alix Dhmderht Hesse was attending the weddding of her sister Ella to Sergi Romanov whom was the cousin of the Hair of the Russian throne, Nicholas Alexandrvich Romanov. She had yet to meet him. They said he was very nice but shy. She turned around as she felt eyes on her. Standing a mere foot in front of her was the cutest boy she had ever seen, with the most piercing blue eyes. She was in love.
The boy walked up to her and smiled, taking her hand in his and kissing it. "Hello Alix. I'm NIcholas" he said. "Hi Nicholas. I'm Alix, but everyone calls me Sunny" she told him, softly blushing. He smiled at the blush on the young girl's face. She had to be no more then 12 or 13. "Everyone calls me Nicky" he replied. "And what do I call you?" she asked him, teasingly. "Nicky" he said. She thought it over for a moment. "I'd like that Nicky" she replied, as they strolled together over the grounds. "What might I call you?" he asked, with a hint of a blush in his voice."Sunny" she said. "I'd like that very much" he replied as they continue to walk together.
She found she liked him very much, this cousin of marriage. They had a lot in common. They each spoke of the their lives, running out of nothing to say to one another ang getting closer by the minute. Suddenly he stopped and turned toward her, taking both her hands in his. "I like you very much Sunny. Your very different from anyone I have known" he said. "I like you to" she replied. She slipped off her ring and together they carved their intials into a tree. They stepped back and admired their handiwork before resuming their walk.
She watched him for a moment, realizing he was thinking about something. "Nicky" she said, softly, placing an hand on his arm (much the same way she would do ten-years later and throughout their married life). "What are you thinking?" she asked. He blushed softly, then lightly kissed her on the cheek. She blushed then leaned up and kissed him sweetly on the cheek as well.
Together then entered back through the doors of the palace, each knowing a bond had been formed.
Let me know what you think. thanks
