When Blue rode her bike into the parking lot of Monmouth that evening, she felt a pang of concern. Adam's "Hondayota" was the only car in the lot. Frowning, she entered the building as quietly as possible.

She felt something pushing her back as she entered the upstairs. "Noah?" she whispered, but he didn't reply. "Adam?" she called, her voice echoing through the room. A movement from the edge of her vision had her whirling. From one of the chairs in the corner Adam rose. For a moment, she thought he was hurt, because he stumbled and had to catch the back of the armchair, but then she realized with a twist in her gut: He's drunk.

"Adam?" she asked again, quieter this time.

"B…'lue?" he slurred. Blue nodded once before he was next to her. "Hey, Blue," he mumbled. "Why's Gansey got that's so much better than me, huh? What can't I do for you that he can? I can kiss you!" he yelled, and suddenly Blue was very afraid of him, more than she'd ever been of anyone human. "I can kiss you, and he's scared to even touch you!"

"Adam," she said shakily, "you're drunk. You need to get some rest, because you're gonna have one hell of a headache in the morning."

He shook his head. "I don't need sleep," he whispered. And then he was gripping her arms and kissing her, and she couldn't move away, and he was gonna leave her a killer bruise on her arms in the morning, but that was the least of her concerns, because he was picking her up and moving, and she wasn't able to stop him, and then—

And then her feet hit the ground and Adam was being yanked across the room by an invisible force—Noah—and there was a pounding on the stairs and the door was flung open.

In a flash, Ronan was launching himself between Blue and Adam. "Lynch," he snarled, and his voice had a blackness in it she'd never heard, one she would only associate with someone attacking Matthew. "What in the hell is going on here?"

Adam gave him a derisive look and flopped onto the couch, where he passed out in a matter of seconds. Sighing, Ronan turned to look at Blue. "Well, Munchkin? What just happened? And why did I get a call on the land line from Noah of all people telling me to get my ass over here?"

Blue paused, knowing full well that Ronan had a thing for Adam and not wanting to spoil it, but she took a deep breath before starting in on one of her shorter rants, snapping, "Adam's drunk, and Noah was trying to contain a situation before it got out of hand, which it nearly did."

Ronan was pulling her in against him, and she blinked and let him, because it was almost as much for him as it was for her and there was no reason to spoil the moment.

"Munchkin," he whispered. "Are you hurt?"

"No," she whispered back. "I'll be fine."

They stayed like this until a warning came from Noah, and when Gansey opened the door to his home, he found Blue just leaving and Ronan waiting for him with fire in his eyes.
