A Christmas Surprise

There was a popping noise as two figures appeared outside an oddly shaped construction known as the Burrow. One of the figures was tall with a shock of red hair and freckled complexion. His companion was shorter than him with messy raven black hair and striking emerald eyes. The two young walked up to the front door with had a lovely wreath made of holly berries and leaves. The shorter of the two pushed open the door and entered the house. These two men were Aurors' Harry Potter and Ron Weasley. They had just returned from a mission to spend Christmas day with Ron's family and their partners.

When the door opened a cheerful, rotund woman with the same red hair as her youngest son was waiting for them.

"I'm so glad you two could make it."

Mrs Weasley ushered the two boys into the house and they gratefully entered the warm and brightly lit hallway. They hung their jackets up on the brass coat pegs nailed to the wall and then stuck their head around the kitchen door. Everyone seemed to be congregated there so Harry and Ron made their way to living room with intention of warming themselves by the fire. The sight they saw stopped them in their tracks.

"Percy!" Ron exclaimed

"Dudley!" Harry's voice came out rather high pitched.

The two people who were engaged it looked like a rather passionate kiss jumped apart with startled yelps. Drawn by the noise the rest of the rather large crowd popped their heads around the door. Ron's twin brothers Fred and George sniggered at the sight of their blushing brother and Harry's rather pinked cheeked cousin. Harry and Ron's gobsmacked expressions only increased their amusement.

"Well I guess it's good to see you um embracing the magical world Dudley," Harry eventually stuttered out.

That statement had everyone bursting into laughter and Percy and Dudley grinning sheepishly. It certainly was a Christmas surprise.
