Title: L Cantabile
Summary: AU/Crossover. Where L is Nodame and Raito is Chiaki.
Too sloppy. Too fast. Too slow. Completely off beat.
This music. It made him cringe and his ears hurt and just - he couldn't take it anymore!
Raito slammed his hands down onto the piano keys, cringing again when the onslaught caused an even more horrendous sound to grate on his already frayed nerves.
The music ceased abruptly and L, slouched over the piano as he was, stared up at his partner with wide eyes, expression infuriatingly blank.
L simply looked ridiculous, Raito thought as he took in the sight of the deranged student. Who the hell sat on their haunches on a piano seat? Like... like an animal? Couldn't he at least put his feet down like a normal person? Or at least buy some shoes? And who in their right mind would have their hands poised in such a position to play the piano? It was like a horrible imitation of how a villain would play their organ in a tacky, secret lair. God help him.
Raito shuddered, taking in his sloppy appearance. Overly baggy jeans that didn't seem to be as clean as Raito would've liked, and an equally loose white jumper hung off his lithe frame. His eyes were large and dark, and the shadows under his eyes clearly showed his lack of sleep. Raito wondered what he did all night if he didn't sleep, surely not practicing the piano if his play was anything to go by.
Someone cleared their throat. He turned around and saw Whammy smiling kindly, patiently at him, as if he was the one causing all the trouble. He scowled and turned back to the student who couldn't even be normal enough to have a proper name.
If he wouldn't play the notes properly, Raito would make him. And Raito, genius that he was, would be damned if he couldn't keep up.
"NO EATING DURING PRACTICE!" Raito's music sheets flew through the air and violently knocked the lollipop out of L's hand.
