Bruce Wayne hates Metropolis.

Every time he travels there, whatever the reason, he keeps it short. It's not really the city's fault. Being there reminds him of how far Metropolis has come—and how far Gotham has to go.

People seem to forget that, before Superman came to town, Metropolis was a black hole of culture, business, anything worthwhile. Just like Gotham is now. But when crime rates dropped—when its people had something to believe in—Metropolis was reborn.

He dreams of Gotham reclaiming its dignity. And of its disheartened, demoralized people having something to believe in.
