Heroine

We can accept the death of the hero, but not the heroine.
They had always been Harry, Ron, and Hermione. Three. A triplet. Never one without the other two.
A bicycle may ride smoothly, but a tricycle is more stable. To be permanently Harry and Ron was wrong. And yet they would have to stay that way, for Hermione, the heroine, was dead.
If it had been Harry... if it had been Ron... if it had been anyone but her, the wizarding world would cry and move on.
We can accept the death of the hero, but not the heroine.
