Disclaimer: I do not own Edward Cullen, Bella Swan, or anything else related to Twilight.

Author's Note: This is my first Twilight fan fic, hence it's probably not all that great. So, just be nice and –if I made any errors or mistakes- just let me know. Enjoy!

"Bella, it's best that you go to sleep now," I said softly. She shook her head, her long, brown hair clinging to her back.

"I haven't finished my story yet," she whispered, paranoid that Charlie would find me in her room. I'd been visiting every night ever since we had returned from a rather unpleasant visit to the Vulturi in Italy, watching Bella as she slept. Charlie had yet to discover me; I am not sure why she is so worried that he will.

I let out an exasperated sigh, and motioned for her to continue.

"Anyways, so –as I was saying- I listened to Emmett complain about how they all had these nicknames for each other, except for you. He asked me to come up with something," Bella whispered. I moaned. This was going to be yet another argument.

"Bella, love, my name is Edward; and that's all it is. Edward Cullen."

She rolled her eyes, and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear. "I know that, but I was thinking that we could have a nickname for you; just for the family to call you."

"They call me Edward. You call me Edward. The kids at school call me Edward," I argued. She stuck her lower lip out ever so slightly, and turned her face away from mine. Great. She was pouting. I sighed, and reached out to pull her blanket over her.

"I'm glad that you finally decided to go to sleep," I mused, a half smile threatening to show itself on my pale face. She didn't move, nor did she look at me. I shook my head, and scooted closer to her.

"Alright, just tell me your ideas," I said in her ear. She looked at me out of the corner of her eye, and rolled her eyes. She then smiled, and turned around to look at me.

"Eddie."

I laughed softly, still aware that Charlie would hear me if I spoke too loudly.

"Eddie? You must be joking."

She looked at me with a serious look; I stopped laughing.

"Bella, that's ridiculous! I'm not letting you call me Eddie. It's just weird."

"You call me by my nickname! Why can't I call you by yours?" She asked.

I turned my back to her, irritated. "Because…"

"That's a sorry excuse, Edward," Bella nearly yelled. I put one finger on her lip, trying to make her calm down. I could hear Charlie stirring downstairs. A few seconds later, after I realized that Charlie wasn't coming upstairs, I removed my finger, slowly.

"Why can't I call you Eddie?" Bella asked softly, looking at me with her large, brown eyes.

I sighed, and made myself comfortable on her bed. "When I was a boy –before I was changed- my mother used to call me Eddie," I explained. "When she died, when I was changed, no one dared to call me by my nickname. Let's just say that I took my mother's death very…hard."

Bella inched closer to me, and put her hand on my cheek. "Edward, I'm sorry…I didn't know…" She started, but I cut her off with a brief kiss.

"Don't worry about it, love. That was a long time ago. Did you have any other nicknames planned out?"

She shook her head, a slight smile on her face. "No, I think I'll just stick to calling you Edward. It sounds more mature, anyways."

I laughed softly, and tucked the comforter around her shoulders. "Alright, let's stop talking about it before you change your mind. It's about time that you go to sleep, anyways."

Bella yawned, and snuggled her head into her pillow. "Good night, Edward."

"Good night, Bella."
