TyzulaTuesday: Crimson

"I wanted babies specifically so I could dress them up!" Ty Lee exclaimed in shrill rage as she held the sad, red dress in her manicured hands. "Why won't she wear it?"

Ty Lee had devolved into the same caliber of tantrum as she and Azula's daughter. The princess was thinking to herself solely that she was relieved not to be the one having the nervous breakdown for once.

"It's a fairly unimportant occasion. She didn't respond to my threats to cut off her hair if she didn't put on her crown. You're not going to get her into that dress unless you threaten to cut off her legs," Azula purred and Ty Lee glared at her.

"I am wearing red, you are wearing red, she will wear red!" Ty Lee shrieked before sighing and sitting down with the crimson little girl dress on her lap. "It's Hao Hiromi," she lamented softly.

Azula looked at the pitiful sight and rolled her eyes. She could not believe the lengths she would go for this unbearable circus freak. "Why does she not want to wear it?" Azula asked after taking a deep, not-at-all calming breath.

"Ugh. Something about picking out an outfit for herself! Why does she think I would fail her with my fashion sense?" Ty Lee's eyes were glittering like a puppy who was just denied a walk, and so Azula snatched the dress away and walked to go find her unruly daughter.

"Kozue come here now!" Azula demanded sharply and the child scampered into the room. While Azula would like to pretend that excitement came from obeying and fearing her mother, it was most likely because Azula had always been the malleable parent. "What is it you want to wear that's upsetting your mom so much?"

Kozue held up an outfit Azula hated to agree with Ty Lee about. "That red doesn't even match!"

"None of those clothing pieces match," Azula remarked with an involuntary grimace.

"I know," Kozue whined. "That's why I like them! You and mom are dressed so the same and everybody else is dressed the same and everybody always wears that same color red with the same nice smooth fabric stuff and I don't wanna be like everybody else! If they're gonna make fun of me anyway I don't know why I can't!"

Azula's heart skipped a beat when her daughter said they're going to make fun of me anyway. This had to get difficult, didn't it?

"You're upsetting your mom and torturously delaying our trip," Azula stated sternly and Kozue looked away with tears shining in her big gold eyes. Azula sighed and glanced over her shoulder. She had a reputation to uphold. "Ty Lee, come here now!"

And there they both were, in a visible standoff about a crimson dress and an eccentric assortment of clothes.

"Ty Lee, would you object to us splitting Kozue's clothes as accessories? If they're going to call us the crazy princess and her whore anyway, we might as well attempt to make our child happy," Azula said and Ty Lee looked between Azula and Kozue. Ty Lee kissed Azula gently on the lips and tried to stop her stomach from lurching.

But the minute Kozue saw Ty Lee's agony about the fur boots, she put on the crimson dress. Albeit, barefoot and with a ridiculous coat and headband, but still.

"I'm a miracle worker," Azula whispered in Ty Lee's ear as they finally escaped the palace, and Ty Lee batted her away, and then kissed her, and the Kozue shouted eew, and they certainly made an impression at fashion week.

But Ty Lee knew she and Azula were the hottest ones there and Kozue was the cutest most perfectest child on the planet regardless of their clothing choices.
