Everything fell away from Jaune's vision, everything but the collapsed body of Weiss Schnee. He forgot Cinder, Emerald, Mercury, Raven, and Lionheart, as he pushed himself off the ground, and rushed over to the heiress.
He'd failed. Again. He couldn't even be a distraction, or a proper meat shield. After everything, after traveling through Anima and coming to Haven, after so many hardships he hadn't changed at all. He was still worthless. A failure. Not even worth killing.
"Damn it!" falling to kneel next to her, hesitant to touch Weiss should he just make it worse. He gentle turns her over facing her body up, frantically repeating, "I'm sorry."
Cinder stood content in watching her handiwork, Emerald close-by weapon directed at the unconscious Ruby. Yang & Qrow both attempted to detached from their fights, but their opponents intercepted them on all fronts. Jaune could distantly hear Ren & Nora call out to him from their fight with the unnamed man.
"No no no no, what do I do?" Jaune looked at the wound in Weiss's side, it wasn't wide, but it went all the way through. She wasn't bleeding a lot because the wound was cauterized on contact, but undoubtedly some of her internal organs were damaged. Through clenched teeth Jaune berated himself, "Do something you idiot! Just do something! Anything!"
The sounds of battle grew louder, as did the sound of a pair of heels approaching him from behind. Cinder was saying something, probably mocking him, but he didn't hear her. He didn't hear anything aside from his own thoughts, and heartbeat. And Weiss's.
"For once in your useless life, just do something!" Angry tears ran down Jaune's face, as he cradled Weiss to his chest, "it should have been me."
Then a glow envelopes Weiss & Jaune, a white aura emanating from his body connecting with Weiss's own. Cinder & Emerald are taken aback momentarily, before both rush forward to put an end to whatever was occurring.
Jaune watches as the wound that had been left by Cinder's attack closed in an instant, all evidence of it existing gone, save for the hole in Weiss's dress. "It healed?" his awe is cut short however, as blood spews from his mouth, an excruciating pain resonates through him from his side. Looking down he sees a hole being burned through his favorite hoodie, soon he can no longer stay upright from the pain and collapses next to Weiss with a simple, "oh."
Cinder & Emerald are on the two prone teens the instant Jaune reaches the ground, weapons raised and ready to end their existences once and for all. Their weapons fall, but a large ethereal blade stops them in their tracks. Suddenly they are flung back by the blade, and see a massive iron clad knight standing guard over Weiss Schnee as she rises from the ground. Wounds healed, aura replenished, and a promise of pain in her eyes.
