And The Sin Was Gone…
The prince woke up. His mind was a twisting nether of memories, of thoughts. It ached like hell. The nocturnal scent woke him up a little, yet when he tried to stand up he easily fell back to the hard surface he was on. A soft arm tried to grab him, without success.
He lazily raised his head in order to see who was with him, and was surprised to see a pair of smiling eyes looking at him. She was in a complete state of bittersweet-ness: she smiled and yet she cried. He recognized her immediately.
"Ran…Fan?" His voice came out of his lips as a distant noise, as if it was a continuation of a sigh. Her smile widened and she hugged him stronger than before, as she could.
He felt his body be filled with a pleasant warmth, a strange euphoria which made him complete.
"He's back" He couldn't see him, but he knew that was Edward's voice. His sight was blurring by every passing second. What had happened? He, too, felt like crying, but he didn't understand anything. He didn't remember anything. At least, anything since he accepted the Philosopher's Stone.
Who cared. He hugged his beloved with all the strength his current state allowed him to, laying his head on her shoulder, against her neck. She did the same. The feeling was mutual; both of them felt the same current of energy fill their bodies, giving them peace, security, strength.
"I… I need to rest now, Ran.."
"Yes, Young… Master…"
Said this, he closed his eyes and let himself drown in the realm of dreams, so that his worn body could rest. In truth, he wanted to stay awake, to spend a little more time with Her, but he was aware that his weariness was, somehow, bigger than what he could endure.
He woke up in the middle of the night and was pleased to see She was there, laying on the same bed as him. As a sign of care, he tenderly pressed his lips against her forehead, and remained in such way until he was sent back to the dreamworld.
