"Talking"
"Thoughts"
Inkopolis, I honestly think that it is a waste of my time. To be around others is a complete waste of my time. I can manage on my own. I always had and did. This shouldn't be any different. I was destined to be alone, and you know what? I accepted it long ago. Why waste time with others and making relationships? I trusted people before, I have a scar across my neck to prove it. Everyone can be a threat so why risk it? In the end, everyone dies, so why bother?
I stared at the passing scenery. Sometimes I would look at my reflection, a teal Inkling with a handkerchief around his neck stared back at me.
"Excuse me is everything alright, sir?" a voice snapped me out of it
"..." I glanced over at the stranger and nodded.
"Ah, excellent" they walked away.
I sighed and looked back outside. The city was getting closer and closer. I got up and grabbed my stuff and headed for the door. Once the train stopped I stepped off. Inklings walked in all different directions. I pulled up my hood and walked towards the plaza. I wanted anything more than to get the fuck out of here. I checked my phone to see where the apartments are located.
"Damn it…. Why does it have to be through this plaza?" I muttered under my breath.
I walked at a faster pace, but the familiar chime stopped me. I looked up to the huge screen to see the squid sisters. I could barely stand the two, one is annoying and the other irritating. I don't one which is worse, but together just gives me headaches. I ignored the TV and walked on. With everyone staring at the sisters, it made my trip to my new home more enjoyable.
"Oh? Are you the new tenant?" an elderly couple greeted me.
"Yes… Ciro Angle..."
"Okay, let me just get the key card" The old timer shifted to the apartment.
"Are you alone?"
I nodded and she patted my back.
"I see if you ever need anything please come over anytime. Oh! Your stuff is already up in your apartment."
"There you go kiddo" the old man returned with a key card, "You are on the third floor. Take care now"
I made my way into the lobby and took the elevator up. It had an old and dusty smell to it. A "ding" signaled me to get off. I looked at the key card.
"322…" I wandered around looking at the doors until I found it.
I scanned my card and walked in. The apartment was like a compacted house and had stairs to a second floor. My boxes littered the entrance. There was a letter on top of one of the boxes. I took it and sat down on the floor.
"Dear Ciro, I believe this was for the best" I read out aloud, "This will be an opportunity to get out more. You will grow so much there. We love you and miss you. Your mom and dad..."
I clicked my tongue and flung the card away from me. It was just an excuse to get rid of me. They would throw me away any chance they got, anyways. I got up and explored my new haven.
"Huh… it's pretty roomy… I guess they spent a fortune on this place so I never had to go back to them. Well, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room…. I don't know there are 2 bedrooms… it's only me after all..." I yawned, grabbed a box, and walked upstairs to the larger room.
I pulled out some blanket from the box and spread them on the floor. Next tossing the pillows onto the blankets. I took my shirt off and toss it aside. I untied my handkerchief from my neck. I felt where the knife cut me. It ran across the front of my neck. I sighed and pulled a faux fur blanket out from the box. I covered myself and fell asleep next to the wall.
Author's Notes
Thanks for reading. I know it's not perfect, so how did I do? Criticism is welcomed as long as you can EXPLAIN what is\ isn't working and how to improve or fix it. I am just a beginner. Thanks again,
