Hi! Foxfire94 here. This is my first fanfic ever but I ve read almost all the ashes to ashes one s here. This is just a little series about what I think should happen when Alex enters the pub/heaven. If you think I should continue please tell me! Although I did not agree with the ending at all, it was pretty clever. Galex forever! Reviews would be greatly appreciated and any ideas on the story would be great also. By the way this is unseated so any mistakes are mine.

Disclaimer: I do not own ashes to ashes, its characters, plotlines or any thing to do with the series. I do however own the characters I invent and my idea!

She looks back to see Gene s face. He s telling her to go inside, trying to make it look like he s ok with her leaving, even going so far as attempting a smile. But his eyes betray him. His eyes show loss, loneliness, anger and .love. She tries to smile back, but can t, it s too upsetting to even try.

She turns the knob of the pub door. She doesn t know what to expect. She hopes it s some kind of a metaphor for heaven. It may be a place with no one or a million people. It may be small and cramped or vastly big. It may be bright or dark. She hopes it s a place where she can just exist: forget all about Molly and Evan, Sam Tyler, and everyone else. She also hopes she can forget about Gene.

She pushes the door open to discover it is indeed a pub . A large one at that. Full of drunk, happy and dead coppers. It even has the legendary has a saloon bar and a television showing a football match. She sighs; everything about it spells Gene Hunt, from its old fashioned furnishings to the dense smell of cigarettes and whiskey.

She comes in and shuts the door behind her. All of the pub occupants turn to look. Silence falls as they take her in. She can hear whispers of the guv s girl from around the bar. Eventually they accept their new companion and turn away from her, getting back to doing what you do when you re dead. She can see Chris and Shaz embracing in a corner and Ray talking and laughing with a bunch coppers at the other side of the room. She even spots Sam Tyler from the corner of her eye with a pretty brunette she strongly suspects is Annie.

She feels dizzy and alone. She doesn t know how to handle herself here. It is a place for Gene not her. It is only when Nelson finds her she feels peace. He takes her hand and leads her to the bar. He pours her a glass of red and she downs it in one go. He pours her another and points to a table in the corner, "they said you migh like that one mon brav". She nods and moves slowly to the table. She can still feel people s eyes on her, waiting for her to give in. Have a cry or even a breakdown. She feels like doing it but does not wish to give them the pleasure of seeing her weak. She sits down and realises what she must do. Wait. She is here to wait. For Molly and for him. Although she is not patient and wishes he would come now, she understands now what she must do. As she drinks he second glass she says to herself "If that stubborn, misogynistic git can wait, then I bloody well can too!" .
