"Probie!"
"Be quiet you guys, Gibbs is going to hear you!"
Upstairs Cynthia glanced in the direction of the noise that was coming from the bull pen. She reached for the intercom.
"Director Shepard, there seems to be a commotion coming from Agent Gibbs's team. He may want to check it out" Inside Jenny's office, Jenny and Gibbs looked at each other and without a word headed towards the door.
10 minutes previously
"I'm going to update the director, behave yourselves while I'm gone," Gibbs ordered. When he had left Tony began to order McGee around. After a few minutes Kate looked up.
"I think Gibbs is coming," she said calmly before going back to her search. Tony stood up and lunged for the remote which was in McGee's hand and in the process knocked McGee against Gibbs's coffee which he had forgotten to take with him. The cup teetered for a moment, which McGee and Tony watched hoping that it would settle, before splashing over Gibbs's mobile and paperwork. The splash attracted Kate's attention and all 3 agents looked at each other for a second before McGee ran for the paper towels, Kate leapt up and went for the paperwork which hadn't yet been soaked and Tony ran for the supply closet for a new phone. McGee frantically tried to mop up the spilt coffee before Gibbs came back and he got into trouble for spilling it.
"That was a stupid thing to do McGee, now its going to get us all in trouble," Tony exclaimed.
"Tony!" McGee said
"Probie!" Tony mocked.
"Be quiet you guys, Gibbs is going to hear you!" Kate pointed out.
"What's going on down here? I thought I told you to behave yourself!" Gibbs yelled as he and Jenny walked towards the top of the stairs. They both descended the entire set of stairs before Gibbs noticed his desk.
"What did you do?!" he asked dangerously. Barely a second passed before the air was filled by his agents' voices.
"It was Tony's fault!" McGee started.
"McGee did it!" Kate interrupted.
"Kate started it!" Tony added.
"QUIET! I asked what happened not who did it!" Gibbs roared. The noise fell silent before starting up again.
"McGee knocked your coffee over," Kate said.
"Tony pushed me into it," McGee protested.
"Kate startled me," Tony finished. Gibbs leveled a murderous glare at each of them individually.
"I'm going to see what Abby had," Kate said making her way to the elevator.
"I'll check with Ducky," Tony added following her.
"And…I'll…go get more coffee," McGee told Jenny and Gibbs running for the elevator, desperate to get out of the same room as Gibbs. Jenny looked at her old partner for a moment.
"Well they are your agents after all Jethro," she pointed out before both of the burst out laughing.
"Always keep a spare handy," Gibbs said as he bent down to retrieve the spare cup of coffee that he'd bought that morning from his desk drawer.
