Summary: Season 1 Pilot – the Winchesters are back on the road together for the first time in a long time.
Sam shoves the box of cassettes back under the seat with a casual lack of care that makes Dean wince. He'd forgotten how much space Sam's long limbs take up in the shotgun seat, all knees and elbows and shaggy hair, and Dean thought he'd gotten used to having emptiness there instead of his little brother, but now he knows he was lying to himself.
He suppresses a grin, turns the volume up just to see Sam flinch and scowl.
"It isn't true, you know," he says.
Sam lifts a brow.
"That absence makes the heart grow fonder, bitch."
"Jerk."
