CHAPTER ONE

"Inu-Yasha!" Kagome said, watching him as he tried using Tetsusaiga, which, of course, wasn't working.

"What!" He said, glaring down at her.

"I know how to use the Tetsusaiga. Do you want me to teach you?"

"Talk." He said, leaping to the ground in front of her.

"Just as long as you keep on protecting me with it, 'K?"

"What are you talking about? Did something rattle in there while we were fighting or are you just babbling nonsense?" Inu-Yasha knocked on her head.

"You said you'd always protect me with it!"

"Who ever said always!"

"SIT!" Inu-Yasha fell to the ground, his knees shaking. He tried holding himself up with Tetsusaiga, but it didn't work too well.

"How inconsiderate! I save your life, and you can't even show a little thanks! I thought you had a good side, but apparently I was wrong! " Kagome stomped off, not looking back.

"Wait! Alright, teach me how to use it! " He yelled back to her. She came running to him, expecting him to apologize. "OK… Will you teach me how to use it… please?"

Kagome knocked him outside the head. "What was I thinking! You, nice! Never in a million years! " She stomped away as she had intended to before, not turning back, no matter how loud Inu-Yasha said sorry.

She walked to Kaede's hut, still fuming. Kaede watched her as she came in.

"What is your problem?" She asked, as she looked up from the fire in the middle of the room. A vat of broil hung above it, bubbling and boiling.

"No, not what my problem is, but Inu-Yasha's! He is just… so ignorant! " Kagome said, steaming as much as the broil within the pot.

"Yes, I know, he needs to get rid of that attitude. Otherwise, we may never get all of the Shikon No Tama. "

There was noise coming from outside. Screams echoed through the hut, and the door busted open. It was a villager, panting. "A demon is coming!" He said, "It is looking for the Kikyo priestess!"

"I'm Kagome, not Kikyo!" Kagome yelled angrily, not in the mood.

The villager then ran away at the sight of what was behind him. Some blood dripped to the ground as the shadow revealed itself. It was Sessho- Maru! He stood there in all his elegance, emotionless, even with his arm gone.

"Give me the girl and no one gets hurt." He said, going to Kagome. She backed away, trying to reach for her bow and arrow. Jaken, who was behind her, knocked it away.

Sessho- Maru grabbed her and leapt through the forest. Kagome struggled, but it was useless. She was helpless, even if he was weaker than before.

"Inu- Yasha!" She yelled. He came through the trees in front of his half brother, with Tetsusaiga in hand.

"Let her go, Sessho- Maru!" He shouted at him.

"I don't think so." He replied.
