Hello there! This is a random drabble that occurred to me thanks to B.C. Daily and here drabbles request last night. Hope you like it! Don't forget to review at the end!

She was sitting by the Black Lake, supposed to be studying. But by doing this it was as if she were betraying the weather, so she preferred to close her eyes and breathe the scent that was clearly Hogwarts: the pine trees that bordered the Forbidden Forest; the slightly dewed grass covering the Grounds; and, the humidity that emanated the body of water in front of her.

Lily threw her head back, basking in the midday sun. Summer was almost near, bringing with it a whiny sister yelling over flower arrangements for her wedding in August. Her train of thought was interrupted when she sensed a shadow lurking over her, taking away all the sunlight that had been touching her face.

"This better be important, you're messing with my groove," Lily informed the Sun Thief.

"Your groove, Evans? I didn't know you had some."

Lily groaned. She opened her eyes to see James Potter, the sunlight thief, towering over her. "As a matter of fact I do, and you just took it away."

"Why are you being mean? I just came over here to ask you something completely legitimate," James said while raising his hands in surrender and stepping off of Lily and sitting beside her.

"Whoa, you were the one who interrupted my Sunlight Session!" she exclaimed as she poked him on the arm.

"What? You're barking mad, Evans. And you have bony fingers!" James whined as Lily just rolled her eyes in response. "I just came over here to ask if you had done your Charms essay so I could clarify something. But, as you can see, I ended up being almost poked to death!"

"Such a baby," Lily muttered. "I was in the middle of writing it when you interrupted my train of thought."

"I thought I had interrupted your Sunlight Session?"

Lily brushed him off. "Same thing, different words."

"Then, you wouldn't mind if I finish my essay with you, right? I promise I'll stay quiet!" he said. Lily looked bewildered, but the grin James gave her convinced her that it wouldn't hurt having him around, so she just shrugged.

"Excellent," James declared as if he'd just gotten an 'Outstanding' already on his homework.

Lily twirled her quill between her fingers as she stared at the few lines she'd written and peeked at James' work, which only ended up frustrating her, due to the fact that he'd almost finished his. "What was the question you wanted to ask me about the essay?"

James raised his hand in a signal for her to wait, as he finished a sentence with a garbled flourish and looked up at her. "I thought you wanted silence."

"I did, but you didn't ask the question and it's making me uneasy," Lily said.

"Am I making you uneasy?"

"You always make me uneasy, b-but that's beside the point," Lily rushed, "Ask the damned question!"

James grinned at her once more, but just started grabbing his things and putting them in his bag.

"What are you doing?" Lily looked at James in confusion. "Are you leaving?" But James just stood up with his bag hanging from his shoulder, still grinning.

"You see, Evans, I only wanted to make sure you had done your homework to let Sirius know that I'm more responsible than you are, Lily."

And with that said, he winked at her and walked away into the Castle whistling as he did so. Lily crossed her arms in frustration as she thought that James Potter was definitely a thief of all the sunlight that could ever exist in this world, but left path that only led to intrigue and confusion.
