A Girl Like You
It had already been two weeks since Pain's attack. Kohona was in shambles; almost everything was in ruin. There were many tents set up along the edge of the rubble. The bigger tents where for the wounded. The smaller tents where for the homeless. The Hyuuga clan was busy at work using their byakugan to search the rubble along with other volunteers.
Hinata was among them. She had sustained a major injury from Pain but she was healed enough to be helping the volunteers search. She put her palms together and activated her byakugan. She concentrated on the rubble before her.
'All this chakra is stagnant…' She thought to herself. 'None of it is moving…' She bit her lip and sighed.
"Hey! Did you find anyone?" One of the volunteers shouted at her.
"No… No one is alive in there…" She shouted back. Hinata almost felt like crying. She felt terrible. There was no one to save, only bodies to collect. She watched the volunteers dig and move the debris around to try and get to these people.
Hinata looked over at the tents and gulped. 'I hope he is alright.' She thought with a small smile. She told her group that she was going to take a break. She went over to a tipped over tree and sat on one of the uplifted roots. She took out a small bottle from her pack and sipped from it. She counted the patches of grass that were left behind.
She looked up when she heard footsteps. Her eyes widened and she blushed.
"N-naruto-kun. Is there something wrong?" She smiled at him. Hinata felt even more embarrassed than normal. She could not believe that she had confessed her feelings only two weeks ago.
Naruto was very quiet and was watching the volunteers dig. He had his hand in his pockets and was slumped over a little. He looked over at her after a few moments.
"No, I just needed some fresh air." He moved closer to her and sat down on the root next to her. He looked at the rubble again and shook his head.
"It must be hard ne, Hinata?" He looked over at her. Hinata nodded in agreement. They sat next to each other a little awkwardly. Hinata was stiff and squeezed her water bottle, Naruto sat leaning over with his lower arms resting on his knees.
"Don't you ever do that again…for anyone." Naruto now has a slight blush on his cheek while Hinata's cheeks were bright red and not to mention she felt a little ashamed.
"You're too nice for anyone to lose you." Naruto glanced at her and she smiled. "Thank you." Hinata said softly.
Naruto sighed and looked down at the ground again. "I always lose control."
Hinata bit her lip and frowned a little. "No. You saved everyone. I was worried… but you are strong and can defeat any monster you're faced with." She said confidently and looked at him.
Naruto smiled widely feeling reassured. He sat up and grinned at her. "Hey Hinata would you mind bringing me back to the tents?"
Hinata blushed a little. "Of course." She signaled to the others and told them where she was going.
Hinata and Naruto walk toward the tents. Both of them are silent but the atmosphere is peaceful and not awkward like it was before. Naruto glanced over at Hinata as they got closer to the tents.
Hinata looked over at him and he was smiling. Suddenly Naruto bent down and kissed her cheek. Hinata's face flushed and smiled you. Naruto chuckled and continued to grin.
"You know… I can fall for a girl like you." Naruto said softly before her went into the tents. While Hinata was left to stand there stunned with her hand on the cheek he kissed.\
AN: Thanks for reading. I hope one day we can have a sweet moment like this. I think the kiss might be much but... oh well I can dream right?
