Chapter 1: Studying is so boriiiing!

A/N: Soooo, hellooo! This is my first Fanfiction EVER eh eh eh and well... I hope I'll do a good work! I'm sorry if I do some mistakes I'm not English! Good read !

Everything was quiet at Sunzhou castle, it was deep night and all the palace's inhabitants were in profound sleep, only a boy with brown hair and lighter eyes was awake and already dressed. Sighing, he exited his room and almost silently he headed towards the princess' room, hoping she too was already out of her bed.

But he knew it was merely impossible.

The boy named Lu Xun was knocking to a someone's door, but knowing that this 'someone' was REALLY lazy, he decided to open the door. He was right, she was sleeping noisily hugging her pillow tightly to her chest, watching her sleeping like this made him smile, not everytime you could see her calm face like this almost...never, but he recovered quickly focusing on his task, he approached her.

''My lady, please wake up.'' He whispered. His multiple calls were in vain for what he could know, she didn't even flinch at his voice.

''My lady you have to get up!'' He shacked her a little but nothing, she wasn't very different from a dead body.

''I don't want to! I wanna sleep..'' Her mumble surprised him, so she was faking it? He scoffed internally, she had to do better to shake his duty off.

''I know, but you promised me-''

"We both know I was lying." She threw one pillow towards his face. He sighed dramatically, will she ever act like a princess or, at least, a normal girl?

"Well, I don't care If you were, because you have to study what you postponed the other day." Annoyed and sleepy ,he pulled her coverts away from her immovable body. She groaned loudly, exaspereted, ''Go away!'' she yelled harshly a hint in her voice of begging, but the rest was full of murder.

He didn't even listen to her as he was blushing till the point of his ears because as always, she was in little-really little shorts and a singlet that didn't leave much to the boy's imagination, after a long stare he gazed down in embarrassment, he heard her snort "I hate you Xun." This guy was really persistent wasn't he?

He chuckled tiredly '' I will wait you out so get dressed and don't make me wait too much, slowpoke.''and quickly he left the room. She had such a face even a SLOWPOKE could have been prettier than her right now , she didn't want study at this early, seriously? She hated studying to begin with. But she did really fakely promise Xun that she would because he was stressing her to death, so she dressed herself in comfortable clothes, screw them ladies dresses, and sadly she left her beloved bedroom.

''Shi, pleas-'' The young man begged hopelessly, how was he going to prepare her properly, when she always got away from her studies? She used all the excuses, really. One day she was sick, the other she hided, once she even disguised herself as a cook so she would go unnoticed and eat as much as she could. He could go on with her excuses for way too long. He understood why every teacher in the whole city couldn't keep up with her.

'' Xun, I will study an other day okay? I already brought Fury out of her stall for a walk, look at her sad puppy eyes, I can't dissapoint this beauty.'' The pretty princess replied innocently, as if she really would study another day.

Another excuse. "Promise me?" He knew that if he played the card of promise, she couldn't back up.

''Yep, now I think you shouldn't waste your time here I know that uncle Quan is preparing for battle, shouldn't you be training or something?" She envied him so much! Same age, different sex, different society standards too. Also he wasn't considered a little kid like she was. How was that fair? Okay, maybe she was a bit too childish but that didn't mean she couldn't handle herself in the battlefield. Who would like to go on war anyway? Maybe she was just strange. No girl of her age, not that she knew many, would join the army and fight.

He nodded and bowed, she rolled her eyes and then he left her with her horse, she sighed sadly and rode her chestnut friend away from everything and everyone...

Xun was waiting for her with such a sleepy face. His eyes were almost closed when she giggled at his state only then, he noticed her "Finally I found out that you are human." she giggled again looking at her flustered friend.

"Ha ha ha very funny,my lady." he told her sarcastically while his eyes narrowed, unamused.

"Don't call me 'my lady'! Heavens, at least not you. It's EMBARASSING! Do I always have to remind you that?''They were childood friends yet he always called like that, as a stranger would, it was so annoying.

'' As you wish, my-'' Oops ,maybe she was going to kill him now? It was an habit and it roll on his tongue authomatically.

She smacked his head hard, he had been warned. He frowned at her abusive manners, usually a lady's hands would be delicate like flowers' petals, hers were much more like a heavy hammer, that just hit his head. They looked small and fragile, but they were not.

Sighing, the young man took her hammer hand, that was resting on her hip, and dragged her like a doll towards the library.

Her eyes shot horrified.

She was not ready for three hours of boredoom !

Plopping on the chair, the princess huffed ''So what are we gonna study now?" Her voice suddenly quite, she was respectfull enough to those who were asleep, which was everyone but her, sadly.

''Mmh, let's study something about weapons? At least you'll be interested.'' His calm and sweet voice made her doze off but she recovered after hearing the word ' weapons', she blinked and nodded smiling brigthly. Yes, she loved weapons and fighting too yet, she never fought a real battle, only sparred in the training field as usual, she wanted to, but everyone prevented her because as they said she was not ' ready' for war which wasn't true, she practiced a lot since she was a little girl! Shi was trained by her aunt ShiangXiang when she was little and when she left, even without a mentor the girl continued her training, striving more and more everyday without a break, she wanted to shock all of those who thought she was weak, plus she had an aunt to make proud of her. Shi thought as her eyes sparked with a joy and ambition that not even war or stupid judgements could sorpress, one day she will be a great fighter and she will proctect her people from this never-ending chaos whatever the cost may be... She just wanted to see her people be happy...That is why she wanted to fight-

''Are you listening to me ?'' Lu Xun's voice ranged in her mind breaking her ambitious chain of thoughts.

''Huh?'' His dreadfull glare made her gulp '' hehehe I am listening, o-of course! '' Did she mention she wasn't a very good liar?

'' Yeah of course, Shi," His eyes rolled "you need to focus on your studies or else you will never fight at thi-'' He was explaining but she had a passion of interrupting people.

'' Uncle Quan will never make me fight b-because I am a girl ,right?'' This question played in her head way too many times, it was poisining. Her usual sparkling eyes, had no light just sadness.

Lu Xun's eyes widened as he did not know what say to raise her morale up because he didn't know what could possibly be in Lord Sun Quan's mind ,he was able to pull a reassuring smile and told her in a soft tone '' You are wrong Shii he is just... worried about you and you know it.'' It wasn't much, he knew, but it was all he could think of.

''B-but!'' Yeah, her uncle was worried and yeah she knew it,''I'm no kid anymore!'' she said childshly puffying her cheeks. Well, she was lady Xiao Quiao nephew after all ,her best friend thought while he wasn't able to restrain a chuckle.

"Are you laughing at me, Xun?"

" Maybe I am." She puffed her cheeks even more, she looked like she was ready to explode. Now he was laughing straight on her face, whose was too funny for him , she soon joined, her giggle a sound so adorable to his ears.

"Everyone should know how mean you can be!" Shi faked indignation, placing her arms under her chest.

He smirked and asked '' What about I am no kid anymore ?'' He tried to mimick her voice, failing miserably.

Her chocolate eyes widened as his smirk grew even bigger "I-I.. Look who is talking! I must study! And you are so distracting me. " Yep, she was in total shame, her cheeks rosy and her head down trying to read this book that the smirking boy gave her ''And anyway my voice is not that whiny." she muttered in protest.

"Sure, not whiny at all, my humble apologies, my lady." He teased her again with a sarcastic tone.

"Xun, AGAIN!" Her growl was followed by a book landing not so softly on dark brown hair.

Two Hours later:

''It's so boriiiiiiing''

'' It is not.''

''I am getting sleepyyyyy.'' The girl whined. Ok, maybe her voice could be a little whiny, but just sometimes.

" Don't worry, it's normal, because you are sooo lazy." This morning he felt like teasing her to no end. It's what she deserved after making him wake up in the middle of the night.

''That's not true! I can be productive, sometimes!''

''true.''

''false''

They continued this useless bicker for way too much.

''I ..almost finished...this chapter..'' She said after approximately another hour had passed, her eyes begged forgiviness they couldn't stay open anymore, and the boy's eyes too were too struggling hard to remain awake. While reading out loud, Shi's voice faltered at some point, her eyes closing gradually as she fell asleep. Her head rested on the open book. The boy smiled watching her sleep, it made him always feel so peacefull, he moved some bangs of honey hair away from her fair face, he could not help but think how cute and relaxed she looked in that moment. It made him want to stare more, but his eyes soon drifted off too, his arms making a pillow for his head.

It was early morning when the great strategist Lu Meng woke up and after dressing up, he moved on the library searching for a pile of books he needed to check on, all of them were on fighting strategies of course. He fumbled the shelves full of books, and when he found them he carefully carried them. Upon nearing the large table in the middle of the room, he noticed a girl and a boy sleeping on the uncomfortable table,he got closer and recognized the two, the princess of Wu and his disciple, he sighed and muttered " These young people." He placed the books on the table and grabbed the both of them instead, each on his shoulder since they didn't weight much, he took them to their own chambers.

Anyway If you are even reading this...thing? I thank you so much ! Lu Xun is my favourite character of Dynasty Warriors series (ahahah would you have guessed?) and in DW8 is so :Q_ howtie ahem, anyway he has this sweet yet professional voice that always makes me relax but even so sleeply hahahah!
