"Tell me," Lightman says, "Tell me you're a doctor. Tell me you're a baker. Tell me you're a soldier."

Methos does, and Lightman leans in closer. "Tell me your name is Matthew Evans. Tell me you killed Eileen Weatherly."

"I killed Eileen Weatherly."

Lightman studies him. Methos lets his features remain open.

"I didn't kill Eileen Weatherly. I am not a soldier; I am not a baker; I am not a doctor. My name is Matthew Evans." Methos smiles. "Tell me, Doctor Lightman. Am I lying? Am I telling the truth?"

Lightman leans back. "Somehow, I think those mean the same thing to you."

Now he's getting it.
