An Old Friend...

Dance with the devil on a cold cell block

But that's what happens when you rape, murder and sell rock

Devils used to be Gods, Angels that fell from the top

There's no diversity 'cos we're burning in the melting pot.

-Dance with the Devil, Immortal Technique.

"What have we got?" Detective Mac Taylor asked, ducking under the yellow tape at the crime scene.

"You're going to want to see this" Don Flack replied simply, leading him over to the spot where the dead body was lying.

Mac took one look at the body and instantly recognised the man lying on the cold floor of the abandoned parking lot.

"Frankie Da Via" Mac sighed, not looking up from where the dead body was lying.

"Yeah, who'd have thought it?" Don said quietly, mostly to himself "Shot wound to his heart, but there are cuts running up and down his chest, they look like they were inflicted with a plain kitchen knife"

"There was no DNA belonging to anyone else on the Vic" Jo informed Don and Mack back at the lab "But I did find something…His wallet was found lying next to him at the scene"

"So? It might have just dropped out when he fell" Don shrugged

"You're right, it could have, but there were fingerprints on it, fingerprints that didn't belong to the Vic" She grinned

"Who did they belong to?" Mac questioned

Jo turned the computer screen so it was facing Don and Mac. Their faces fell as they saw the picture on the screen.

"Gabriella Accardo…ex homicide detective, her record's clean, but she has a direct link to the Gambino gang, the gang our Vic was leader of" Jo told the two detectives.

"We know, she worked here" Mac said solemnly.

"She did?" Jo asked, eyebrows raised.

"Yeah" Don cut in "We were working on the Gambino Gang case together, we knew we couldn't get anything on them as outsiders, so Gabriella went undercover"

"She was undercover for a month and a half, one day she game into my office and told me she didn't want to do it anymore, she quit" Mac sighed

"She never said why, but we've been told she was sleeping with Frankie Da Via, and she wanted to leave her job to be with him"

"Wow" Joe mumbled

"So Flack, what's say we pay a visit to an old friend?" Mack grinned.

A/N : Short chapter I know but I'm just introducing the storyline and getting into the swing of things. Reviews appreciated (but no mandatory-I hate it when authors drone on about how they have no reviews [No offense] Thanks for reading!
