Just finished watching the entirety of season one the other day, (and yes, my first reaction was to write a fanfiction for this phenomenally beautiful and heart-wrenchingly evil show). But anyway, here's a poem I wrote from Demelza's song for the daughter she lost from the perspective of Ross. I tried to rhyme it to the best of my ability so go easy with the criticism please as this is the first actual poem I've posted:)

Reviews are always welcome!

Red Roses

She'd pluck a fair rose for her love.

For those she loved all of the above.

Not one, but two;

For her love only grew.

She'd pluck a fair rose blowing,

And in her heart love was glowing.

A-trying so to prove,

What her heart was knowing.

She'd pluck a finger on a thorn,

Leaving the skin that stroked a cheek torn.

She'd pluck a finger bleeding,

Because all the while she was still needing.

Red was her heart.

She fell apart,

Wounded and forlorn.

She would always mourn.

She'd hold a finger to her tongue,

Tasting for the young that was her own.

She'd hold a finger waiting,

And never cease did the aching.

Her heart was sore,

She fell to the floor;

In tears of red,

And despair for the dead.

Until it joined in song,

What would hopefully last for long.

Wi' the hearts mating,

Not one, or two, but three.

She watched the waves roll by,

Under a clear sky.

Over hills she bent,

And through meadows she went.

To find that which she'd lost.

But her red heart was what her sorrow cost.

Now love she still did,

Not one, but two;

Because no matter where she'd gone,

She would always be loved come dawn.

Up, up, and away she flew

To born anew.

Your mommy loves you.

Good? Bad? Review! (Cover was also drawn by me), and if any of you ever want to fangirl about Demelza and Ross I'm all ears:)
