The inspiration came some time ago. It was just a flash, like an image of Celebi flying through time. So that's how this poem came to be.

On my Journey through Time

On my journey through time

Through every moment,

Every second of each hour

Past the flying days

-

So free.

-

So much freedom, it seems:

-

I can relive any moment

Any point in the past, in the future

I can stop anywhere for a rest.

-

And every time I make a journey,

I see it all—

-

Glorious wars, terror, bloodshed,

Moments of joy and sadness

Celebrations, days of silence

Sun, rain, snow—everything.

-

So much power.

-

I have the power to see so much,

To return to the memories of the past

To go forth into time not yet here.

-

Yet—

-

Am I blessed?

Is it a blessing to know my fate?

Is it a blessing

To know the fate of the world?

-

I am afraid of it.

-

I have seen terrible things

I have seen disasters.

-

I try to keep the world safe.

I stop the disasters, I try to avert

The terrible consequences I foresee.

-

But in doing that, I have become detached

Independent of time,

In my own world

No longer a part of yours.

-

I fear to lose myself.

Where do I belong? When?

No time is a home to me—

-

I am forever travelling

Ever on this endless journey

-

-

I don't know where I belong,

Not even who I am,

Or where I was born.

-

You may envy me…But

-

But I am only a prisoner,

Trapped by time

Trapped by all the troubles of the world

-

I am never free to go

-

There is so much to do

And my job is never finished.

-

I am forced to continue this journey forever,

This journey through time.

Just for your info, the lines in italics, when put together, form a summary of the poem.

The ending wasn't very good, I think. I have no idea how to conclude this poem.

All in all, this poem is supposed to give you a very irregular feel, like nothing is stable, and I hoped to give that mood by making the stanzas all different lengths. However, I still think this poem was one of my worse ones, and I hope you can put up with that. This poem took me about 40 minutes (which is a very long time).
